I'm okay with this to be honest the last three Star Wars films were pretty mediocre. The animated one wasn't particularly good either unless you look at it as a premiere for the animated show (which is decent). I'm the very least interested to see what they can accomplish because it's felt like the Star Wars franchise has needed some fresh blood for a long time coming now.
If it flops it's no big deal, I have no expectations from the Star Wars franchise any more but if they make a kick ass Star Wars film that would be cool as hell.

Its fucking disgraceful! Disney won't respect the material! They'll just *kiddify* it with stupid teddy bear aliens, merchandise it to death & churn out a souless cartoon series :(

Don't forget that Disney also own Marvel and so far most of the Marvel movies they've made have been ok.

Yeah, I think people might be surprised to learn about all the movies Disney have actually been involved in lately.
I have hope they will actually be good for SW.

I hope they cover the Sith Vs Jedi time period, when the jedis won over the Sith, it will be great just to see Yoda in his prime taking names and all that.

Disney can't make this set of three any worse then what happened with the last set made. So I'm mildly optimistic they may be able to do something decent with it.
As long as they don't go down the lines of 'Return of The Binks'....

I hope they completely ignore the "expanded universe" because without exception its all terrible.
Actually ignore I-III aswell.
Just make a follow up series of films ignoring everything apart from New Hope and Empire.
Then force Lucas to release a blu ray of the original trilogy in its original form.

The expanded universe is really great. I absolutely love both the Bane trilogy and the X-wing series.

Everything I've learnt or simply read myself (SUPER DUPER POOPER STAR EXPLODER MRK 5. Jedi Juniors and Tales from Jabbas Palace) has been almost as bad as fan-fiction.
Not quite as bad as fan-fiction but theres little difference.
I'd rather read the Doom novels if I wanted that level of insanity and dis-connection from what made the original great in the first place.
