Red Dead is definitely looking very good, no doubt, but next year has a lot of contenders.. Thanks for the trailer though, the more I see about it the better that game looks!

@Armitage: Heh, going to update some of my levels with the stuff that comes with PotC pack. Especially "A Journey" will gain from it as the pack has pretty much everything I needed when I was building that level.

Sorry guys. I only said game of the year to get folks to check it out. It will most probly be mine. If not GT5 or TLG. I've just been dreaming of a western of this epic-ness. Rockstar...thank you! I can't be more pumped.

It's an action open world game, not an RPG, by the way.

No need to apologise, the game looks great! I'm not generally into westerns (though the 3:10 To Yuma remake I loved) but I'm a big fan of GOOD open world games - which there aren't enough of in my opinion!Posted 3 years ago # -

Its the age I think. :(I like the look of this and the gameplay looks to be really good.
Rockstar do open world pretty good so a buy for me I reckon.

I still own it. Its not bad considering Rockstar picked it up half way through dev. after Capcom pulled the plug. It was mission based though. The mulitplayer was ok and the quick draw stuff was different. Standard cover-system 3rd person shooter fare. Upgradable weapons, plenty of unlocks, and a grainy filter over the screen to make it look like an old film. Since GTA4's announcing, I've been praying they'd revisit the franchise using the same tech and going open world. Curious to see if there will be any easter eggs in it for fans of Revolver.

There's no cover system in Red Dead Revolver. It was even more standard fare third person shooter.

Just completed the single-player of Red Dead Redemption, it took me 18hr 36 minutes in all. And holy cow is the ending A-MAZ-ING! Very clever as well, not to mention it had me saying all kinds of swear words.
Definitely a Game of the Year contender. I haven't even got onto the multiplayer yet! Can't Wait!
