It's inevitable, so lets discuss.
Don't most sequels when they get to 5 and above start to get ridiculous and suck though..?
In all honesty, Leons quest in RE6 is clearly the most true to form Resident Evil and it's not bad. MUCH too linear in my opinion for a RE game, but they nailed the walking zombies, the intense close up detailed graphics, the lighting, the audio and atmosphere, DEFINITLY NOT the controls though. Look, when I wanna walk, let the player walk. When I wanna run, let the player run. Do not limit my ability to do this - there's already enough control in this game as is. Oh, and they should have started the game with Leons quest, NOT that stupid action packed, hollywood big budget blockbuster, overloaded QTE filled opening they scared half their target audience off with.
The rest of the game...again, too action packed, cheesy, big budget Michael Bay Hollywood cash in for this Resident Evil fan. That's why I never liked the movies. Different topic...i know.
In my opinion, the ONLY way Capcom can attempt to redeem themselves (if they want to) after RE6...is ofcourse, the inevitable reboot..."Resident Evil". I suggest they go the route Tony Hawk did which is after the series starting consistently sucking, remake and re-release the original. It's safe. It'll sell. It's smart. And you know how? Using the RE6 engine but fixing the controls. Imagine the original Resident Evil (perhaps even 2 eventually) remade entirely using the new graphics engine. Sort of have that Lost in Nightmares look and feel. Not only RE fans, but I think everyone would eat that shit up.
Problem is.....Capcom never listens to it's customers...(instead they usually enjoy raping us)
This or just give us the Gamecube remake on XBLA/PSN already.
Any other thoughts on what the next Resident Evil game will be? Perhaps a Vita exclusive? Perhaps a Revelations port? Resident Evil 7? Resident Evil spin-off? Resident Evil reboot?
