   I get acussed of, I don't know being a bad gamer? I don't think I am a bad gamer, just an average one. One of the things I complain about is how tuff Blizz games are. The reasons are simple, I game a lot on PC, and Blizz makes some very high profile and high quality PC games.

   I have been playing WoW off and on again for 9 years, like many of you folks here. I couldn't make it through Diablo III either.

   I was reading a Gameindustry.biz interview. GI is the only other gamesite I read, great site. And the interview got mentioned here in this site in referance to mistakes/thoughts on DiabloIIIs launch.

   But what I grasped onto was this:

   "Mike Morhaime: One of the things with Cataclysm that I don't think we got right was the difficulty curve. A lot of people hit a wall and found it frustrating. We made some adjustments over time but probably not quickly enough."

   I was one of those people that hit that wall. If I am being honest, so was my two sons, my wife, my brother/sister inlaws, five of my sons friends, along with prolly 85% of my guild in the game. None of us exceptional gamers, but all of us dedicated enough to own the game, the expansions, and pay the monthly sub. None of us got to DS level. And only three of us(myself included) even partialy cleared Firelands.

   I think that is a problem. In part because I wanted to clear that content and couldn't, but also a problem because of those people I mentioned only one of them(outside of my guild) is buying MoP. I know good ridence and all of that, but I think it is an issue for Blizz. I still have a sub, got the year long one that included DiabloIII, so did a lot of the folks in my guild/group. But I have stoped playing.

   Let me be clear, I don't expect the game to change. I don't expect to have content catered to me and my skill level. What I do want is for a few of you to wrap your heads around the possibility that maybe I am not some troll with zero game skills. And that maybe there are more folks like me then like you.

   I know there are stats out there for % of players that have cleared this or that raid. I don't recall where to track them down. But I bet if you did you would see that far more folks don't clear end game then do. I know that the thinking is "good" not everyone should clear end game. And that doing so "means" something. And that is a debate for another day. As I don't think in game achievments, be them on xb360, ps3 or wow mean much of anything. I look at wow in with simplicity. I bought the game, I pay to play it, I want to experience all of the content that I paid for.

   But what I really wanted to do was just point out what the guy at Blizz said in that interview. Because it represents/mirrors what I have been saying for awhile. I am not trying to chnge minds or convince anyone of anything. Not beating a war drum or anything silly. Just saying, "look, I am not alone".

   I'm not interested in WoW at all, but who cares if you're good at games or not.

   tbh, I think most people aren't as good as the serious core who frequent this site.

   I know loads of gamers, but I find it difficult to find many who are good enough to get difficult coop achievements with me, for example.

   There are loads of gamers who aren't super skillful. Of course there are.

   I haven't played WoW ever so can't relate in that regard. I do understand the "wanting" to play what you've bought. I mean, thank God, I never bought Dark Souls, it would be so frustrating if I bought a game that ended up being too hard for me.

   For D3 however it was a different story for me. Normal was soooo fucking easy. The only reason I had to use two months to beat it was that I couldn't more than one or two hours at a time. They should have just cut down on the many difficulties and just do Nightmare as Normal and then Hell and Inferno. Of course, crappy loot also made it hard to finish. I did get one legendary item while in Normal.

   @G1GA, I agree we do have some serious core gamers, I consider you one of them - but I don't think I have seen you bash someone for being bad at CoD for example, if they simply say it's too hard. Unless they're intentionally trolling, which makes it fair game.

   If you have though, I take that back... and you're a bastard. ;)

   @OG, seriously, it's a shame if you feel like you need to justify yourself. As you said, you're an average gamer, there's nothing wrong with that. I don't know what I would call myself, I'm decent at most things but I just play games that give me fun.

   Building a super powerful awesome rig to be "competitive" is exactly what I do not find fun about gaming. The same goes for that ultra hardcore raid mind-set too. There's nothing wrong with that of course, each to their own. It's just when those people think THAT WAY is the way to game and everyone else is "doing it wrong" is what gets on my nerves.

   OG, well Raid Finder was introduced specifically for people who had trouble getting to end game raid content. I don't know if you tried it or not. One issue with WoW is that it's difficult for most people to master their class and the other thing is you're so dependent on your addons. Things like DBM (Deadly Boss Modes) help a lot with encounters, and everyone are using them. To stay competitive in WoW you have to sort your class and study encounters.

   For me this was mostly fun as I like to have a competition it turns me on. For many it creates frustration and people can be assholes and add to that by constant nagging and ranting and being a total jerk about other people's performance.

   Then comes the Best in the Slot factor. before you'll be able to get into every content you need to have the best obtainable gear equipped. in 4.3 before getting to DS, if you weren't in Firelands gear or Raid Finder gear. your best possible gears were a combination of Hour of Twilight dungeons gear and Valor Point ones.

   Other thing is gems and enchants, you had to see what enchants gave you the best possible stat that you needed, which gems to put in your gears socket.

   When you did all that then there is this fact that stats matter a lot in wow. Most people dunno how to reforge their statis to optimize it for raid content. For instance Hit and Expertise rating for Raid PVE and PVP is totally different. it's 7.5% for PVE, and 3% for PVP. Other stat weights as well, different specifications need different stat weights to be able to function. Optimizing those stats are of huge importance in wow.

   So, I think it wasn't the question of you being a bad player, there are many things to sort out before each challenge. In order to improve you have to do these things, you have to use the best possible spec and abilities to be competitive.

   That being said, I'm sure you're not a troll with zero game skills, and if there are people that claiming that it's because they're being poor sport. You're OK in my book, and by that I mean you have my respect. People of course have different play-styles and different tastes. You shouldn't bother yourself with that sort of things, people having poor personality traits is not something that you have any control over. Just ignore them.

   @Orbit I know you have an incredible sense of humor, much like myself, but if someone is looking to impress gurlz, playing Video games is not what they wanna do. Unless they're in Korea which is a totally different story. :D

    The Firelands are meant to be hardcore endgame content, for people who have the time to complete it. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm all for making MMOs more accessible, for the most part, but I still think hard endgame content is what keeps people in the game.

    Not all content needs to be accessible to every single player. Why does it have to be? Different content for different play types. They were still adding new five mans. Weren't those good enough?

    Back in Burning Crusade, people weren't complaining all the time because they couldn't reach Black Temple and take on Illiadan. What changed exactly, that people suddenly started feeling like this content *had* to be accessible to everyone?

    Strongly disagree. I feel far more people leave then stay.

    Back in those BC days, the actual game is was challenging. Todays game is about breezing new players through content in order to sell expacs and it is also easy in order to breeze older player through new toons in order reach end game faster. The baby gets thrown out with the bath water. With the ability to constantly be in DGs players are found spending almost all of their time in one. Walk aorund the actual game world, pretty empty. In BC, there was still a worthy game world. Now it has been discarded.

    It is all about Dungeons now. And players blast through DG after DG, most of it easy, even the "end game" five mans are easy. And then bang, that wall like whats his name was talking about. At the very least there is balancing issues.

    In short there is very little keeping average players from being at the tough stuff. There is very little to do. So it creates a lot of bored and frustraited players.

    Not to mention, competition. Gamers have more choice now. And because of it demand more from their games. If you have the only game in town people are willing to keep reaching for the carrot. But if they get used to getting the carrot in other games, reaching for yours stops being as much fun.

    Wow is still the biggest and maybe the best MMOrpg out there. And it still draws in people like bugs to a light. But I think those people just think differently then they used to 3 expacs ago.

    I stopped now, haven't even logged on to check out the new panda stuff or the new xpac. WoW is very aluring. My frustraition isn't that it is the way it is, but that I would like to be able to play it.

    But then there is common sense that says they aren't going to change it because of me. And I don't expect them to.

    Right now I am getting my MMO fix with guildwars2. And I bounce around inbetween different f2p games when the mood strikes. Those are nice choices because none of them require sub fees so I don't feel like I have to play if I would rather do something else.

    It is hard not to. I am curious. But so far so good. I sometimes have to remind myself how frustraited it makes me once I reach level cap. And with only 5 lvls, it never takes long.
