Okay, it may have been done before... But,

Stranded on a Desert Island (you are on your own, no Interweb) and you will be rescued in:

*** 7 YEARS !!! ***

What 3, Consoles / Computers or Handhelds + 3 Games for each would you choose... (no emulators obvs... Although adding iPad etc... Is okay, but you can't choose 10 games for PC or whatever, also all games have original download packs...)

Also, if you pick a platform, you MUST pick 3 games, I.e. you can't mix and match...

To get the ball rolling...

XBox 360 :

Halo Reach
Dark Souls
Trails Evolution

Wii:

Mario Galaxy 2
Skyward Sword
Endless Ocean 2

PS3:

Motorstorm Pacific Rift (guilty pleasure!)
Castlevania SOTN PSN classic
God of War 3

That was harder than I imagined, and I'm sure I forgot some classics! But, for me, that's a good mix of styles and replay value... It's tougher than I imagined ! :)

Very interested to see what peoples choices are!

If you haven't played any of the retro games I've mentioned, seriously check them out, especially streets of Rage 2 (my all-time favourite game) and Castlevania 4. Just awesome :)

Oh tricky - and interesting ... I've left a couple of gaps to update as I think of stuff. Lack of interweb is going to make it tough, it's so integral to many games today - even without direct online versus play.

Good thread MonkeyG, always fun to give stuff like this a thought once in awhile. Dave man, Cast 4 is awesome for sure, but don't ya think SoTN trumps it? I almost put a PS2 o my list just for that game. So hard to pick just three lol.

@Dave Castlevania 4 sounds nice, tried to buy it with original boxing and manual. Not very cheap :(
@monkeygourmet nice to see that someone else likes awesome diving games :)

Its really hard to decide :( I am sure next time, it would be a different choice xD

Castlevania 4 pips SOTN for me just because of the nostalgia attached. I go back to play it and see what they managed to squeeze out of the SNES back then and my mind is blown every time. It's dark, the music is incredible, the visuals. Just love it :D

Krazy, emulate it, there's no shame with a game that rare and overpriced :)

dude ... seven years is too much :P I added some games that Ive yet to play but I intend to do so.

this made me think about how dull FIFA and COD are without multiplayer.

Megaman is the only franchise that I can keep playing more than 10 times without getting bored.

I think that 7 years is more than enough to try every race in Skyrim and every character in Borderlands 2 :P

Great game for sure Dave, I still have the orig SNES cart for my system. Emulators are nice, i have a few, but there is something even better when holding the orig controler in your hand ;)

The idea Manu, was to have to pick just three systems. Like being stranded and only having the three systems to play, and only 3 games for each. So, you would have to reduce your system list to just three.

That is why it is chalanging.

Bending the rules are we?! ;)

If thats the case i'll choose one of the pirated 150 games in 1 cartridge for the gameboy...

It would be like Twillight Zone,

150 games and their ALL tetris!!! The horror! ;)

Yeah had to include secret of mana, still have unfinished business as i never managed to defeat the last boss even after an hour of unleashing every bloody spell in my arsenal!

Thought about dreamcast, but remembered the majority of the games were most arcadey with a few hours gaming time!

Remember 7 years is a long time to survive with only 9 games...!

It was tough leaving out the SNES, but had to lean towards sheer # of playable hours. There's loads of games I haven't played yet, that I have a feeling would replace a lot of these choices. This would probably be a very different list in a few years.

Taking a punt on a couple not quite released yet - is that allowed? It's an interesting ponder due to the time and restrictions. For example I wanted to cover certain genres - like racing - but because slots from other machines were already full I went with something which should fit the bill. Longevity, variety and depth are key to all the choices.

this is damn tough!...it´s an impossible task really..i didnt really think my list through. pretty spontaneous list from me but i think the more quick the games come to my mind the more impact they had on me. i also only concentrated on the current gen. anyway. great thread and here we go:

360:
Halo Reach (if there´s an internet connection on the island this game is worth gold. if not i´d still pick it for the campaign and firefight!)
Bayonetta (cannot have enough oversexed witches on a desert island can ya?)
The Orange Box (you cannot beat the content and quality)

PS3:
Castlevania SOTN (would´ve picked dawn of sorrow for the ds but i really need all three DS "slots" otherwise...so i´ll get my castlevania fix here!)
Sly Cooper Collection (it makes me feel good. the cheesy humour makes me smile)
God of War collection or Devil may cry collection? cannot decide (or is this collection stuff cheating anyway?)

3DS:
Zelda Ocarina of Time (you can replay this a lot and the sounds and music will make me feel home)
MK7 (again, fun, replay)
Yoshis Island or NSMB DS....can´t i just take both....please???

Man this list is so incomplete! i hate it already! where´s kirby? metroid? 7 years. it makes me cry!

i´d also need some drawing programs like colors 3d or art academy. i love those. they don´t count as games right. i´d smuggle one in for sure!
