I know VG247 needs it's pennies from somewhere but this is such a nasty advert.
Hurts eye AND makes it obvious I'm skiving at work. :(

+1
+1 It's so bad.
It burns my eyes,make it stop!!
you serious? because i love it. best ad ever. the yellow is so damn sexy, almost orange- great color. great design and artwork too. perfect advertising going on here. vg24/7 should keep it for at least 6 months!
@polygem
I did wonder what you were on about in a thread the other day. Adblock here. Then I saw it on my phone. My eyes! My eyes!
It would be ok if the entire web page BG wasn't yellow..
Brilliant. I didn't notice this before but now it'll probably bother me every time I go on VG247. Thanks Guys... :|
Poly +100 fanboy points for valiant defence of Nintendo advertising ;-)
It's an advertisement, deal with it, VG247 guys doesn't really pic the color. maybe just about half of it, and last time I checked you don't pay anything to keep anyone at VG247 employed, they oughta do it themselves, so just chill out for a week or two, the ad will magically vanish get replaced with a Guild Wars 2 and Mists of Pandaria after that.
I use AdBlock and have Flash uninstalled...
Indeed. I mean, who cares about the fact that the ads are Pat's livelihood, help feed his children, and will probably help get them through college?
Making a living? Pfft, fuck that shit!
What if a videogame some bought second hand helps some of visitors feed their family?
Oh, I'm sorry. We have to think about stimulating customer taste in videogames.
@orbit...i really do love this color. if there would be a playstation vita in this color, i´d run to the shop right now!
@Ireland Michael
I appreciate that but the ads on vg247 have been the most disruptive and browser breaking I've every encountered on any site I regularly visit. I'll happily look at ads, may even click a few, but if they start causing browser crashes or substantially increase page load times I'll end up blocking them out of frustration.
Actually I take my last comment back, Its not started annoying me now. I guess I'm just a care free guy who doesn't get wound up by tiny little things that aren't important in the grand scheme of things... *cough*...
..Or you are fortunate enough to not have a strict boss who glances at your screen? :p
GOLD! Needs moa GOLD!
Well that might have been true but I work in a kitchen. No computers in a kitchen. But its my day off so I can do whatever the hell I want. :P
The yellow doesn't bother me, but the animations do.
If you really want to drive people to install ad blockers and completely destroy the point of having advertising in the 1st place fire in a bunch of animations, roll-overs and sounds.
Sounds especially. These new video ads that have started popping up everywhere are what drove me to take some sort of blocking measures. There is nothing worse than searching through 15+ tabs looking for the one bastard that is playing a video ad for fucking Mr Muscle or whatever.
get some work done instead then lazy arse
@DrDamn I disagree, just because they sport some colors your eyes are not accustomed to see often, it doesn't make them disruptive and browser breaking. You clearly haven't met youtube, gamespot, etc yet. they shove ads down your throat and you have to watch the whole shit in order to get to what you wanna see. Gamespot re-direct you every now and then to a random ad, there are other examples that falls into "disruptive and browser breaking" but VG247 haven't got any of those just yet.

To everyone:
These ads are a mean to support the website and the people working on it that you visit on a regular basis, sometimes a lil bit of courtesy wouldn't hurt anybody. These people don't owe any of us any special favors, we come here for news and they provide it, it's not often perfect but they take their time with the community and interact with us on a daily basis. I can survive a yellow screen for a month or two, it doesn't make any of our eyes bleed. It's here now and when the contract is expired a new one comes and take over the place.
Animated ads are all over the internet, if you're so fragile that a bit of wild color or animated advertisement will fundamentally break you off, then stop roaming around the internet, it's not a healthy place for you to run about.
@GwynbleiddiuM
Errr ... ok. It was a bit of a joke about the yellow, but if you want to go off on one, feel free.
The breaking bit was from previous experience. Previous ads have killed various browsers and also made loading the page unacceptably long - like 3-4 minutes. That's just poorly tested. Adverts shouldn't inconvenience the viewer to that degree should they?
@DrDamn DUDE!!! I have a freaking 512kbps internet connection and I check VG247 multiple time a day, and I've been here since before time and I never had that sort of experience with VG247. I bet you still use Shiternet Explorer. :P Go Firefox or Chrome man.
I use Chrome and Safari. Tend to experience the big delays on Safari. Not really got an option with iPad. I also can't block the adds on iPad and mobiles - though I do make use of the rss feeds. I realise it's the advertisers fault and not vg247, but if I have the option to avoid them because of these reasons I will.
The horrendously slow loading is probably caused by a slow computer trying to load enough information, without enough CPU power or RAM to handle all the graphic intensive Flash. That's the problem in my case anyway.
@GwynbleiddiuM" Actually, it runs fastest in "Shiternet Explorer" for me. Chrome can't handle all the Flash data. It eats into my CPU like crazy.
It doesn't lag at all on my iPad. Loads and runs like silk.
@Gwyn, like I said it makes the site not work friendly, so I'll have to install an ad blocker if I want to continue to use it at work during this particular ad. Not because I don't want to support VG247, but because I want to actually be able to use the site with peace of mind.
@Ireland the site runs.. like me? ;p
