If you have the time it would be super awesome if you could let me know the following:
When gaming on a PC do you gamepads at all?
If you use a 360 do you use it wired or wireless?
If you aren't using a 360 pad, what type of controller is it?
For non 360 pads can you tell me if they have analogue triggers?
I'd be interested to know what joysticks people have if possible too.
Answering will aid game development.
I have always used my PS3 controller for games that practically require controllers like games with driving involved or platformers.

Cool, I have that up and running, nice and easy.
Do you find you need to remap the triggers manually or do you find it just works? (by default both triggers map to one axis).
I use Genius wireless gamepad with an Xbox controller emulator and it works almost always.
If I just go to Xbox 360 emulator I usually have to switch the trigger and bumpers but other than that it works fine.
360 pad via wireless receiver for me.
Same as above for me. Pretty much whenever I can too.
I use gamepads mainly for 3rd person games and driving games where supported.
I mostly use a wired 360 controller but I also have motionjoy installed for my ps3 controller for older direct input games since you can set it up to emulate xinput and direct input. I considered getting a motionjoy compatible bluetooth adaptor at one point, but since support seems to be a bit fickle I dropped the notion since my PC is well within wired distance whether I hook it up to the tv or sit at the desk.

I have 360 pad support but it wasn't until following Phoenixblight's steps to get the ps3 controller setup as a xinput device I realized that the code to detect pads has a bug that means it likely wont work for anything other than an actual 360 pad.
Given that some of you (and therefore probably a significant percentage of any PC userbase) are using systems to fake xinput its really important I fix this. It still would have worked using directinput but you'd be more likely to run into issues with having to remap the buttons and triggers.
I just use a standard wired xb360 pad. Plug and play no fuss.
@OG I don't use a fuse either. :P
I usually play with a paired PS3 controller (with MotionJoy), but my wired F430 Logitech can also be useful at times.

Even if the percentage is still small in terms of PC gamers using a pad, I think it's still more than some people might think. Especially for the people that are coming over from console to PC.
I'm happy to admit that I might lose a bit of accuracy but for me the comfort and user-friendliness (of what I'm more use to for shooters etc) more than make up for it.
I'm with freedom_stains, use a pad for 3rd person and driving games. If it's a shooter it absolutely has to be m&k for me.
360 controller; wired. I use it whenever it's supported (even FPS).
Wired 360 controller. It really depends on the game. Recently played through Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, for instance, and it's much easier with that.
Using a controller for an FPS by choice? Wow.
imo the 360 pad is the best. the dpad isn´t that great but that´s the only minor flaw. used it a lot on a gaming laptop i had and worked perfectly. i have a wireless 360 pad on the 360 with aplay and charge kit, but i almost always use my white wired gamepad from my launch 360 mostly. it´s close to dying but it still works! i consumed 4 360´s or so but i still use my first 360 gamepad!
I use a xbox 360 controller for games that was poorly ported, or just games that seems more fluid and easier to lean back to with a controller. For example batman: arkham asylum (bought city, haven't played it yet). The controls felt wierd with a keyboard and mouse. The game is not poorly ported per say, but it feels much smoother with a controller.
Don't know if that answers the questions clearly enough.
I use the wired 360 controller for windows, but mostly only for football (soccer) games.

The keyboard/mouse is perfect for that game. You can tear bad guys apart like a genius using the mouse.
