Blue Sky Black Death, a ambient techno group, they have some very relaxing songs.
my favorite: Gold in Gold OutPosted 10 months ago # -
To name a few bands / artists:
- Shinedown
- Jimmy Eat World
- Linkin Park (Some of their recent stuff has been bad but their new album, too good)
- Flogging Molly
- Daft Punk
- Rise Against
- Johnny Cash
- Bon Jovi*Dubstep is a bit hit and miss. Some is good and some is utter crap (in my opinion). Drum and Bass is good as is electronic as well as rock / alternative. Anything heavy metal I cannot stand, Used to love stuff like Slipknot and other 'screamo' bands but now its just like "How the hell did I listen to that shit?"
Those I listed are my favourites by far.
Carpark North are alright as well, heard of them from a livestream.
*Edit: Bon Jovi deserves to be on that list seeing as I love "The Circle" album.

Mainly electronic, quite a range, but favoring ambient lately: Tycho, Nathan Fake, Ulrich Schnauss... of course classics like Orbital, Chemical Brothers, and Underworld. The Prodigy is hands down the best live show I've ever seen. Underworld an easy 3rd. Cafe del Mar has put together some good collections.
Rock & alternative through the ages, though I'm partial to the 90's.
A little hip-hop, with The Fugees - The Score & Cunninlynguists - Will Rap For Food easily taking the top spots.
Some instrumental, Philip Glass & Buddy Rich... Some Canadian The Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo...
Haven't heard a whole lot of heavy metal, apart from Metallica & Tool.
As far as game soundtracks, FFVII, Xenogears & Chrono Trigger are hard to beat.
Really, an impossible question, as I have almost 5000 mp3s on my computer, and a lot of them are one offs, always seeking a new sound.

Oh, and top 40 & FM radio can go fuck themselves.
Radio became obsolete over a decade ago, IMO.Posted 9 months ago # -

@Noodlemanny
Why would you presume that? I do drive, not often these days, but when I do, I listen to CD's. I use a GPS or map for navigation, and the internet for pre-route planning, news & weather. What use is radio?Posted 9 months ago # -
