So like yeah...one of the guys that is working on Dead Space 3 has actually said(on a certain forum)that the reason they included this co-op thingy(among other unnecessary stuff)is because some of the fans were crying out and saying that the previous games were too intense for them...I am not kidding it's true.My personal stance is that this is the usual bullshit excuse that the developers feed us with.
So what do you guys think?Lame excuse to turn this promising franchise into shootie shootie bang bang,dude-brah festival or are there actually people(I am assuming with some kind of blanky at their side at all times)that were calling for their mummies when playing Dead Space games?
Dead Space games were too intense....apparently

Gamers telling him the game was too intense for them, are NOT fans of the game. Dead Space 3 looks like another Lost Planet, they ruined what the game makes so special. Funny thing is that Lost Planet 3 looks a lot like Dead Space 2 ;)

it´s just marketing. dead space really wasn´t half as intense as people make it to be...i only played 1 though. i liked it but really didn´t feel like i´d have to play dead space 2.
i loved lost planet 1, hated 2, and hope lost planet 3 will be awesome again...dead space, i´ll wait and see.Posted 11 months ago # -
Yeah I am actually looking forward to Lost Planet 3 and there 's a new trailer for it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nnTvM5a7KE seems to look very promising .

indeed. it´s a great franchise, with a huge potential. i really hope they finally give it the cash, time, creativity and polish it needs in order to really really shine.

pff they ruined Dead Space , too intense lol what a lame ass excuse is that
it's what Dead Space is all aboutPosted 11 months ago # -
What's done is done, reserve final judgement until the game actually comes out.

Thats what they said about Diablo 3. That worked out well enough right?
Its perfectly reasonable to have pretty deep concerns after seeing what they showed. That combined with the statements above and its even more worrying.
Who are they making this game for? Im pretty sure Dead Space became the success it was because of everything this game has removed.

I love Dead space and Dead Space 2, and if it was too "intense" for them then they can go play something else. I reserve judgement till I play the game, but the co-op demos seem like Gears of Dead Space more than the creepy atmosphere of the original.

The co op is drop in and play which unlike RE5 makes it different. You don't get a stupid AI following you around throughout the entire game. Which already puts it ahead of RE5. Dead Space was never a survival horror and not much of a horror game as compared to amnesia or Silent Hill. Its been an action horror much like James Cameron Aliens.
The fact that the co op is totally optional and I don't have to carry an AI throughout my game is a huge plus. The cover system is there for when we fight the unitology supporters. Its not like the necromorphs will be going behind cover and shooting at you.

How old were these "fans" that supposedly contacted him. A case of Mum & Dad blindly buying a game for Little Timmy or Susie again?
Or is it EA pushing the franchise this way to appeal to the lowest common denominator?

You know what, I think the original Dead Space was nearly a masterpiece and a definitive classic in the world of video game, but ever since the the sequel came out, I just miss that good feeling of the first one with actual- oh I don't know, SCARES! There were some stupid moments where I did somehow get scared and jumped but not nearly as bad as the first time playing Dead Space.
Ok, and Dead Space 3 looks to be like a Gears of Space game and bro-shooter with the addition of Co-op. The worst part of it all is that Dead Space 3 looks exactly like Dead Space 2 with more levels like a cut and past game. Personally Dead Space 2 was a wonderful game in which Visceral updated their engine with better visuals and physics redid the animations, sounds, and lighting. Nothing, almost NOTHING changed in the next game of the series.
I want my favorite franchise back Visceral! and update the engine while you're at it
