Recently three friends and I have been playing SWAT 4 via LAN excessively for the past few days. We've completed every mission in the core game and expansion at least twice so we're wondering if there are any games out there that have four player co-op via LAN that's similar to SWAT 4? I've heard Rainbow Six Vegas is a good option

Have you tried any of the older Ghost Recon games on the PC? They might be pretty good. They look dated now but the gameplay is great.
Vegas is a good game, and supports 4 players, not sure if it does that on LAN so someone else might want to confirm that.

Nice site that lists co-op stuff in all games. Says Vegas is 4 player Lan as is Vegas 2, also mentioned Payday the Heist as 4 player Lan, might be worth giving that a look too.

yes vegas2...you´ll probably have lots of fun with it. it´s a good game.
unit 13 is kind of cool on the vita too imo, but probably not what you are looking for.
on the page hunam mentioned they gave unit 13 a decent review score for the coop gameplay too

There aren't really any tactical games after that.
In my opinion Swat 4 just wasn't very good though. Both the mechanics and the AI was crap. The movement was all kinds of screwed up. I came in after Swat 3, and in my opinion that was a tactical masterpiece. It's available on GOG, and also has quite a few mods to spice it up a bit. I don't know how much coop it offers, but I do know that a lot of people have worked on it since.
The Ubisoft shooters are really just cover shooters, it's a different ballgame to me. I do think that the GRAW series was the best of the bunch though, but I essentially haven't played those since launch.
Depending on where your interests are, you might want to try ArmA. Again it's pretty limited by the AI, but with a bit of added imagination, and especially online, you can get some really good games going.
If you have four guys you play with, that's a fireteam. You could do some cool stuff working together like that.
Ditto Project Reality for Battlefield 2. In terms of the mechanics, I think it's more enjoyable than ArmA when people actually work together.
