   Guys, i like battlefield 3 but i did have almost like 3 months i did not played it, because i was busy with other games, this past weekend i decide to play some matches, and it did run an update, which it didnt grant access to rent servers, i will not say anything bad against this, because it is a tool give to the gamer, even if it is for money, therefore i dont want to go into much details but i did had a not so good time playing those.

   Therefore the question at hand is how i do find the old servers where there are not new gameplay alterations or anything on those lines?, could you help me please?, i did try but pretty much all of the servers say dice therefore i dont know which ones are the old original servers that came with the game T_T.

   I had the same experience just after the new rent a server thing came out. I hadn't played, my son was playing so I was going join him for a bit. After the download there was tons of half empty servers. Felt like they split the comunity. Not matter, cause once I got a few games under my belt again, i was reminded of why I stoped playing in the first place.

   There are just games that are actualy fun to play. Ones that don't make me talk to voices in my head or want to throw the controler through my TV, lol. After coming back after such a long lapse, i couldn't get back into it. I maybe have around 400hrs played. I can't see me getting to 500. I got my moneys worth out of it, not many games get played for that many hours. But i am done with it.

   As for the rent a server idea, not a fan. Seems to me they found a way to monitize something that used to be taken for granted on PC. Myabe I am wrong there tho.

   Yes, i dont like it either, i got banned in 3 games, and the funny thing is that i didnt play them, they banned me for no reason when i was selecting the weapons and clases,o_O , and also some other things, like alterations of the game, that in my eyes make it less fun overall, thats why iam asking how i can select the old servers back?,if you know please tell me, i dont want to throw the towel with this game yet, even if they are not that fully played by gamers (old servers), even if we are only four players gaming, we can have fun as it was original intended.

   Yesterday i tried again, i found some servers that were called "DICE Normal servers", but not luck, they were also rent servers, but at least they were more enjoyable than the previous ones, but i want to find the old originals DICE servers, though

   the update applys to the game itself not just the servers.
   so even the official dice ones will be updated.

   why would you wanto play before the update anyway?? All it was , was noobs using the usas

   Manu, what do you mean by "alterations to the game"?

   On PC admins are able to make fairly limited and basic changes to the game setup.

   They can choose to mix up elements from Normal mode and Hardcore mode, they can change the ticket count, the respawn rate for vehicles, they choose the map rotation and game types, they can also choose to kick and ban players on a whim.

   I find it hard to find anything in that list where an admin can make the game so significantly different that you would have cause for complaint (aside from the kicking and banning).

   Where are you from? It's fairly understandable with the way the hit detection works in this game that admins don't want high-pingers in their game. I don't even know if the console version gives you a ping display, but I'd say that high ping is usually why you'd get kicked without actually doing anything wrong unless the admin is simply making space for his buds and you just happened to be the last one in.

   freedoms_stain thanks for the respond,Well i meant for the alterations like a match that lasts 40 minutes or something more, and most of the time the losing team quit most of its player then we have matches of 12 versus 4, and i mean thats not really fun at least for the shortest straw,the game losses its balance, or like using the same map over and over again,etc there are other things as well that in my eyes altered the balance DICE had put into the game, but like i said i dont want to complain because i do understand that this is more power to the players and theres a lot of people that will like this, iam not against that, but i just want to play the game at the state it was release i mean with the original DICE vision, matches that lasted 15 or 20 minutes, there was not a lot of quiting, you could play radom maps, etc things like that, i did like it that way, i mean the old version servers created by dice and not the gamers, i want to know a way to find those ones.

   Iam in venezuela, and maybe that was the reason for the bannings, maybe you are right, but i dont like the idea of being banned for no reason, or reasons establish by the player who rented the server, i mean that has to be some limitations, in order to avoid arbitrary reasons.

   Gamma, maybe i didnt explain myself correctly, english is not my first language, sorry, what i did try to say is iam not against the update, thanks the heavens for those, the game need it badly, what i do not like is that theres no differentiation between servers created by dice, with the original game types, and the ones "altered"/created by the players who do rent the servers, or at least i dont known how to find them, like i said to freedoms iam not against the idea, because thats more power to the player, but i do find my enjoyment of the game, with this servers ruled by gamers, a little bit broken or less enjoyble for the reasons i stated above, therefore i want to know how i can find the old servers created by dice when the game was released, because i did find those with more balance and without arbitrary rules, thats all

   I don't have BF3 on console to check this out myself, but I scoped some youtube videos and it looks like you can check the server settings within the sever browser which shows you the "owner" of the server - this is their gamertag or PSN ID, official servers read "DICE" in that field.

   Thanks freedoms, but i did understand that all the rent servers created by the players also indicated DICE, but let me check later today browsing with the DICE word and see what it turns out, really thanks for the replys appreciated
