Are you suffering from Console Fatigue? I know I am, not that I am "jonesing" for a New Console, well maybe I am, but the outlook on new consoles right now, with the rumored specs, is not to encouraging!

Xbox 360: BIGGEST FATIGUE
I knew a day would come when I was becoming bored with the 360, and it happened fall 2011! Didn't help that the games in the USA, were made and pressed in Mexico, so every time you got home and opened your game, it would have the dreaded water swirls, which don't affect the disc, or would have scratches, thumb prints, hair, or just sliding around in the case scratching the heck out of the disc!
Don't get me started on paying $60 US, for access to um, Nothing really! Multiplayer=free on PS3, Netflix=free on PS3, Gold Prices for Members=Same price if not better on PS3! All those great apps=free on PS3 as well! Microsoft, I am really, REALLY tired of your business model, that give you Money from a membership that gives me, NOTHING! Oh and the Hard Drive...Don't even go there!! And Cloud...LOL..Limited!!

Lets just call the Wii, the little system that could have!! Shovelware, buried anything that might have been good! Online, simply put..NIGHTMARE!! Apps..ROFL!!! Netlfix is a Slug on the Wii!! Releasing Xenoblades and the Last Story, should have happened at Launch, not at Death of the Wii! I am liking Xenoblades ok, but I really only Play Chess on the Wii with my friends, and I had to buy them the game to get them to play! I am also very nervous for the WiiU..don't see that happening Day one unless something "Blows my Mind" Oh and Wii means No Hard Drive, and No Cloud!!

I'll be honest, I was using the Blu-Ray player to play movies and not really games!! I am buying more games for the PS3, just to get away from the very irritating 360! PS3 Discs, GORGEOUS, But, what is with all the PS3 Game Bugs, that can brick the system or just kill the game! The OS on 360 seems more stable then the OS on the PS3! But then the Light shines through the clouds! With a paid Plus Membership, you actually get something for FREE!! Yes for FREE..maybe not the greatest games, but they are FREE!! You also get Qore for free, yes it is a Commercial, but it is free! You get avatars free, theme's free. And PS3 Sales, sure blow the Hell out of the 360 Sales!! And you want MLB, Netflix, Vudu, or other Apps, they really are FREE!! You don't have to be a Plus Member to get them!! They are available to all!!

So the PS3 is my system of choice right now, but I am fatigued by all of them for some reason or another! Amazingly the 360 wins the Most Fatigued Award for 2012, Just because the Wii won it years ago, and though the PS3 is showing fatigue, it sure is better then what the Wii and 360 are doing, and that is even with the Massive HACK!!

At this point, I have such a distaste for MS that I don't even turn the system on. I think, like you, for me, the biggest thing is the way MS always seems to have their hands on my wallet. Its disgusting. I will NOT be buying a MS system next gen.

I don't mind sharing my wallet with anyone who actually delivers. That's the problem right now.

Instead of putting value in, they're taking it out, and the price remains the same. Much less functional interface (possibly made for Kinect - Which I doubt a lot of their core audience want to use on a primary basis) and it's becoming obvious that Microsoft are more intent on certifying games to death, than actually delivering them to their audience.

Their rules make absolutely no sense. The PS3 is getting the HD remake of Stranger's Wrath, Xbox users can go fuck themselves. And there's no one to blame for that but MS.

It's really only gotten worse for me after subjecting myself to GFWL games. The system is so incredibly poor, and while I don't pay for it on the PC, I feel guilty for supporting people who can make such a shitty, retarded program even if it's indirectly through a console subscription.

It's not just hostile to users, it's hostile to developers. Who are actually being served by Microsoft? The only people I can think of is Microsoft themselves.

That's no way to run a business. It's full on self-destruction.

Well with me is the contrary situation, i started this gen playing more on my ps3 and wii than with the 360, but in the last year or so, i have been playing the 360 and wii more than the ps3, and i think this will be in the upcoming future as well, especially for the arcade games that are XBLA exclusives and mass effect 3 multiplayer, an other great shooters that are coming this year like max payne 3, ghost recon, the new bioshock etc, this because i tend to buy the shooters on the 360 for the controller, that and most of the third party tittles, action tittles are different, i got them on the ps3, like asuras warth and shadows of the damned for example.

Only console I have a fatigue for is the Wii, but mostly for the lack of games.

Xbox still going strong, although I buy most of my games on the PC anyway, because M+KB > Controller.

I'm probably going to sell my PS3 after The Last Of Us and DUSt 514 (I hope it will be eventually on the PC)
I don't play on consoles a lot since God Of War 3 to be honest. 2010 year was the last year for console for me. They can't give me something more then my PC in terms of games and value.

With amazing games on the PC and exclusives such as Diablo III, Mists Of Pandaria, Civilization 5 addon, SHOGUN 2:TW, Guild Wars 2, Planetside 2, Torchlight 2. I find it very hard to be interested in consoles again.

Multiplatform will be better on the PC too like Max Payne 3 that is developed specifically for the PC, GTA 5 on max settings, Battlefield 3, Witcher 2.

Mouse and keyboard.

You can press F5 to SAVE and F9 to load INSTANTLY without issues which is a huge bonus.

But i recently bought PS Vita and while i'm happy with the device there are not a lot of games for it so i hope for more E3 reveals.

but yeah, New Generation of consoles or GTFO. But to be honest with games like today on the PC there is no reason even to wait for the next gen.
360 and PS3 are toys these days and you can't do much about it. Console manufacturers do what they want and they can sell any crap they want.

Someone is going to play Diablo 3?

Everyone's going to play Diablo. I am however unsure why you put "Mists of Pandaria" into the amazing games section.

I will play it for sure, but after Wrath / Cata, surely you can not think of it as "awesome"?

That is the Great thing with the PC, is not only the diversity in games, but not being locked into a 5-10 year cycle with the same hardware! If you can afford it, you can basically either upgrade your PC, or simply go buy a newer model about every 6-8 months, once again if you can afford it, which is the conundrum I have, in this "New" economy model, PC gaming is out of my reach.

I can't remember ever having PC fatigue in the way I have it with the consoles! I did have PC Upgrading Fatigue, but at least with PC, you can access your Netflix and other "Apps" without having to pay $60!

In my opinion Mists Of Pandaria is a huge mistake and so far there is nothing new and better then in CATA which was broken to begin with so i hope that Guild Wars 2 or some other MMO will crush it so i can forget about it.
I feel myself sometimes as a WOW slave because i have Over 9000 achievements and two 85 level characters :D

But yes, i agree completely with you about it's issues and it's fatigue.

@Daytripper, I really want to try Starhawk but dunno. Feels very generic, but at the same time C&C:Renegade gameplay style is really cool.

I want THE LAST GUARDIAN damn it :D

If you consider the money I have spent on three different consoles, and 2 handhelds this gen. And then consider the cash i have spent on PC during the same tim eperiod. And all of the other stuff like numerious headsets for PS3/xbox. And controlers. And 60usd games. And the dlc. And the XBLG subs. And so on. ...

I have spent far far more cash on consoles then I have on PC. Something that really stands in contrast to where I put my hours of gameplay. Next gen I don't need three game consoles. Only gonna get one.

And I already have Diablo III paid in full. So you can guess where my summer will go. Oddly enough on PC you only really needs a few games. yet on a console you need a lot more. So much more depth to most PC games. I love Civ, compare Civ Rev to Civ IV or Civ V. Rev gets predictable and boring. But IV or V can sustain me for years.

And then there is steam. This tread isn't big enough to talk about Steam. It is just too awesome. MS can keep their deal of the week, lol. I have bought games on Steam for 5usd that I have played for over a hundred hours. Good luck finding that on a console.

I've been a pc-gamer for many years, this is the first generation I use a console as main platform for gaming. But I consider returning to pc-gaming instead of buying a next-gen console. I'm getting so tired of these "follow the instructions on screen" kind of games on console. While lots of games have great graphics and storytelling, gameplay is often very limited, repetitive and way too easy.

I won't ever buy a Microsoft console. I refuse to pay for stuff that's completely free elsewhere, and Microsoft only cares about uninspired sequels, paid DLC and Kinect - three things that I really hate in videogaming. Next xbox will get another Halo, another Fable, another Gears of War and lots more Kinect shovelware. It's always more of the same.

For Sony I'm not sure. This generation they had some really strong exclusives, but for the next Playstation we need some new stuff. I enjoyed Killzone, LBP and Uncharted, but I had enough of them. I really hope those studios will create new IP's for the next Playstation. If so, I'd probably buy one to play console exclusives. But even then I'll probably usee my pc as main gaming platform.

I have to say my PS3 is gathering dust but my 360 is going strong. I started off this gen with the 360 which at the time was also better than my PC, but it did fade when I finally decided to get the PS3.

But now, my love for the 360 returns. It's just my favourite gaming platform. I would even put it above the PC even though I spend far more time and money on and with the PC. I find the controller more comfortable, the menus and layout better than the PS3 and the gaming online with the 360 seems to be better for me too.

I'm not sure what I will do next gen though as I'm seriously just considering sticking with my PC, especially now more games are coming with pad support as standard and the fact I have it hooked up to my TV. Whereas before I was limited to sitting at my desk I have the "console setup" going so that's big bonus.

@OG, I also have D3 paid and loaded up... just waiting for release day to install and go wild! I'm currently wondering if I'm feeling enough of a sucker to buy GW2 now and get the usual access to beta, head start and items... although it's another TOR with no release date...

lol @ Giskard, I just got the annual pass for wow myself. My brother is enjoying the game for the first time, and with the Diablo III give away, I took the plunge. I hate HATE HATE Cati, but have been enjoying the game with friends and family. So its all good.

And thats what it comes down to for me. There sin't anything near the level of wow or diablo III for that matter on a console.

I do play my PC in the living room tho, so in a way its like a grown up version of a console.

No way. As I'm gaming regularly on all systems (inkl. 16bit, NeoGeo, iOS etc.) I have really no problem at all. As off late I enjoy the XBLA titles Sine Mora and I Am Alive or Journey on PS3. I find the download games are getting better and better and Deadlight cant come soon enough! Xenoblade Chronicles is an absolute brilliant game on the Wii and I really hope for a sequel on the WiiU.

@Da Man, I'm assuming you mean the only-PC part of my comment? I'm not decided on that but unless there is a big influence of digital gaming I'm certain how I will feel about the new systems.

I do love going into my regular stores but Steam, Netflix and other on-demand services really make me realise how much I love not having game cases lying around the place.

My console game library must be around 40 strong (if not a bit more) and it just takes up so much room. I say that I won't buy into the next-gen but that's probably a total lie as I think I have a problem when it comes to not being able to stop buying games. :)

i just re-bought a ps3 again and i am really enjoying catching up on all the ps3 exclusives i missed out on. also just ordered a vita. i am consuming like a maniac atm. my one console only rule has been outruled for sure.
getting a wii really helped me to refresh things again. mario kart and skyward sword as well as mario galaxy helped a lot. thanks nintendo. shame on me that i abandoned you for so long.

i prefered the 360 this gen over any other platform, but ms got lazy in the last year or so imo. i got bored by the machine. also the ads on the new dash and the xbl gold pay for stuff really started to annoy me. i miss the 360 pad for my shooters though. i enjoy that the online service on the ps3 is not as well thought out as on the 360 atm tbh. might sound strange but it is true. i never needed stuff like cross game chat and i feel like i can focus on playing my games now without getting clan invites, strange mails or 15 year olds that invite me for partychat in halo reach. all this service stuff can distract you from your core gaming. social control. i don´t need it.

for the next gen i want to go with just one console and right now i think it will be sonys next one. i wont count ms out completeley but they kind of lost me and i never thought that this would happen....oh yea. make it 2 (handhelds do not count here ok?!!). i will get a wiiu too pretty sure.
