@silk - It does look wierd lol, but it was simply the best controller for 3d games I have ever used, and its much better than a dual stick controller.
The first I saw one was with a group of guys I got together with monthly to play LAN games, one of them bought one. This guy was a decent player but not great, and we made fun of him as he was terrible trying to use that controller at first. The following month he wiped the floor with us with the spaceorb, and I went out and bought one. I had the same experience, was terrible at first, but then owned anyone using a mouse and keyboard. One hand did everything a keyboard and mouse did movement wise or what dual sticks took two hands to do, the other hand completely free for buttons, and it fit your hand no matter what size. The tech is still being used to today for CAD programs and called Spaceball, though Im not sure its still actually being made.
The 2nd generation games are always so amazing compared to first gen games, Like Halo2 from halo, Skyrim from Oblivion, even gears of war 3 from gears 1 is a huge difference. The developers learn how to milk it and surprise us. It amazes me that chips from 2005 can do so much in 2012. Infamous looks like fun, haven't tried it yet.
