Now I'm getting a new headset for my xbox 360 and I'm unsure what exactly to get. Money isn't an object here and I'm going all out, as long as it nothing totally ridiculous. Now I was originally thinking about the new Tritton Warhead but not only am I unsure when it was actually coming out but also everyone also says Astros are best. But I'm unsure as to which particular one to get. Whats the actual difference between the audio system and the regular headset. There seems to be a box included with the audio system but I don't know what the hell thats doing. I've decided I don't want the wireless, it just seem pointless having it wired to a wireless box. Also I have no damned idea what any of the specs mean. Why can't they just make it a little simpler? :(
I might get a turtle but I don't really like to look of them.
Help?

i had the astros a 30´s (i believe-the smaller ones) and the tritton a 720. both worked well on the 360 and ps 3.
i would never buy wireless either.
the astros had far better built quality and slightly better sound quality imo. they were pretty awesome actually. but they are kinda overpriced too.
the a 30´s are great but if you really want to use it for home entertainment only i would go for the bigger ones. a40.
the audio system is expensive too for the astros but it comes in handy. you can adjust the volume of the game sound and the chat sound with it. it looks and feels rocksolid and stylish too.
the tritton has that too, maybe it´s even a better solution on those because you can adjust everything on the actual headphone wire...there´s an audio thingy built in there. they just felt more clumsy and cheaper. which they are, so it´s ok. they totally get the job done though for sure. so overall quality better in the astros, look, feel and slightly sound better too imho.
you´ll need an optical cable too. there´s a cheap one that comes with the tritton but it´s garbage. not with the astros i believe - but i´m not so sure about that.
don´t know about the tritton warhead.
you wont regret the astos i´d say if you want/ can burn the cash. they are really solid. i would recommend those.Posted 1 year ago # -
just get Turtlebeach!
don't argue with me here, I know the turtle beach haters are coming here to abuse it and defend other headsets.*DO NOT get a wireless headset! It reduces the quality of the bass!
*Get ANY turtlebeach headset, since you said money isn't the problem go for the good one that cost £100.
*get DSS2 audio processor (Dobly Surround Sound 2).I don't care what headset you get even though you don't want turtlebeach, but I STRONGLY advise and recommend you get the DSS2. If you don't, you are wasting your time with other bull.
One of the advantages of DSS2 is that it allows you to customize the position of the speakers, this is very important and vital!
this is my review of the turtlebeach follows up I've been doing.
http://tkplayers.com/forum/index.php?/topic/11153-gaming-headsetheadphones-turtle-beach-px-21/page__pid__252707#entry252707I had DSS 1 it was good and still good. But DSS2 is just an improvement. Speaker position custom makes a huge difference and the equalizer custom gives you an option of how you want to listen.
I have the PX 21 which is lasting me, works perfectly and amazing.

What ever happened to those Microsoft branded headsets, were they not doing a USB one? that'd be a good solution, because most decent headsets require an excessive amount of cabling imo.

if you want to quility headphones get tritton 720 but one thing that pisses me off about trittons is that the mic is shit ive had 4 mics in 1 year...thats how shit they are.

I own one tritton(mine) and two Turtle beachs(both kids).
Don't buy a Tritton, it is a Mad Catz product. Mine broke(loose wiring). My kids both have the turtle beach ones and they work great. I bought a medium ranged Tritton, and the kids have low end TBs.
Also do NOT buy wireless ones. A cord isn't that big of a deal.

I've tried and tested a lot of headsets by myself. Was it creative, steelseries, tritton or madcatz (which is actually the same) But none of them, no matter how much they cost, was even close as good as the Razer headsets. Sure, they're not cheap, but you get great sound and some quality.

i got Razer Chimaera 5.1
sure..the mic only work for Xbox
but the Game Sound work for PS3 and Xbox
its big, and its 100 % wireless
its use a 5.8 GHZ frequency, so it will never interfere with the Router or mobile phone wireless systemsPosted 1 year ago # -
I have the stereo chimaera, and also don't have any connection problems. Batteries also run very long so maybe you should consider it.
