Right get this... i get flashbacks to scenes in books. I was thinking about some sort of scene the other day there and i was like damn what movie is that from again. Few hours later it came back to me, it was actually a scene from a book, just shows you the power of the imagination, i mean i had never really 'seen' any of it for real it was all just in my minds eye but the image was so strong. It was a jack higgins book btw, one of the sean dillon ones.
I think thats why i love games so much, when i was younger during the early 90's graphics were shit so you had to use your imagination. I remember playing some txt adventure off a tape that came with an amstrad magazine, there were some shaddy sound effects like the noise of a train when you were supposed to be on one or the noise of the ocean when you were supposed to be in a cottage on the shore. Anyway this game was dripping in atmosphere but most of it i was creating myself by imagining what my surroundings were like.
Suppose what im trying to say is that us lot (gamers), we relish the chance to use our imaginations, games appeal to us because they get the imagination going. Behind the windmill in kakariko village, that fence... who hasn't wondered whats behind there :P
