It's bollocks - worst in the series. Avoid at all costs and stick with SC4.
Hopefully Namco will correct this misstep with Tekken Tag 2.
Mortal Kombat could well end up being my favourite fighting game this gen, much to my surprise.

new it looked abit shit for soul calibur but whats terrible about it? is it the lack of gamemodes or just the game in general?
Lack of game modes - the story mode is positively anaemic - and an incredibly poorly implemented Super Meter. Going from how the super meter is implemented in both SF and MK to how it's done in SC5 really highlights how inaccessible the SC series has become since SC2.
SC3 remains the best in the series, IMHO. Even an HD remake of that game would be better than this.
Avoid at all costs, unless you only care about battling people online.
Honestly, I love the new Soul Cal. It does everything right in execution that it lack's in story. The Meter is implemented VERY well. The lose of guard impact spam is great. The Fluidness of combo's are great. The need to move is implemented perfectly. The players I have played so far don't get it yet they are playing this like its Soul Cal IV and it's not let it go it's in the past now. Time to learn a new system that's all.
If you like Soul Cal 4 so much well you still have Soul cal 4.
Well I think its the best one yet, they really seem to have taken after Soul Calibur II (like they aimed to). I never played the third one, never owned a PS2 so I couldn't have a say in that. I loved SCIV and now I love SCV. I love the idea of learning new moves that actually requires skill instead of just mashing buttons in hopes something good will happen (like I did in SCIV). It really feels like it has gone in the right direction.
Sorry to disagree with you man, but I think it is excellent, I think I have played it a bit too much yet I still love it. Nearly every waking hour of mine has been spent glued to that game (besides for today where I had college >.< Life sucks :L) Anywho, It is a brilliant addition to the SC Series.
