Looks good to me!
Set to be out on the 7th across all platforms (the 8th in the US) and rumor has it that it'll run 15 bucks/eurobucks.
For that price, I'm definitely gonna give it a whirl.

If it's 15 euros, I'll surely give it a shot. It looks promising, although I didn't have the chance to try the beta.
You know i do like the overall idea behind this in all aspects(story, background, sillyness, etc), but the thing that worries me the most, is that all the previews indicated that is like COD with gadgets, and to tell you the truth iam not that good at COD, i got MW3 because some reviewers stated that it was slower than previous COD and more approchable in the killstreak mechanics, but in the end it wanst for me neither, therefore i dont know what to do really, i mean if i get this game or not, especially this month, they are coming a lot of great tittles, Shank 2, Iam alive, Alan Wake, among others.
Personally I like that kind of challenge. If you kept at it, you'd get better eventually Manu. It's definitely humiliating in the beginning, but those reflexes will put you ahead in pretty much any other shooter too.
Don't quit, suffer now, and live the rest of your life as a champion, to quote the great Muhammad Ali :P
To me it just looks like the sort of crazy fun that Brink should've been. I just hope I'm not about this one too.
This is not like CoD. As I said in one of my posts, it's very similar to Team Fortress 2. Which is not a really bad thing. And Manu, you shouldn't really listen too much to previewers or reviewers, they are mostly there just to give you their impressions about their game. And they are one (one not all!) of the reasons why the latest itinerations of CoD got so much praise and fans.
DSB, ah yes iam still trying, but iam losing faith right now 8D, if i dont recall wrong only on three occasions i did pretty good, got really good scores with a high number of killstreaks and very few deaths, but i call that a "fluke" if i dont recall wrong, that is the word for a tremendously lucky exception; Unlike with battlefield that i came on top like 150+ matches in the first 3 places, and i feel i do support the squad i got like 350+ saves, and i feel pretty good, sometimes i almost throw the towel with COD multiplayer.
Sadismek, well if thats the case i will get it, i did like team fortress 2 on the xbox 360
Well, it's a lot like CoD spiced up with a bit of Team Fortress 2, and the game itself is awesome fun, but it's really being held back by its systems right now.
I'm always glad to see a matchmaker on the PC, but at this point there aren't enough people around to get games going quickly, and they've made a real mess of using both Warner Brothers ID and GFWL, even though the game is on Steam.
That sort of thing pisses me off, because it's so obviously the work of an idiotic suit who has no clue. And that's the sort of thing that can really hurt the game even though it's actually really good.
Some people are complaining about performance issues but I haven't skipped a single frame myself.
There's also a lot of close quarters sniping, but it is definitely one of those games where death is right around the corner, so I can't say whether it requires balancing at this point.
I love this game, but it really doesn't love me back.
It's hard to get a match going at the moment. The wait is 10 to 15 minutes, and it's really the kind of fastpaced game that you'd like to pick up and put down with intervals, so if you aren't staying in a lobby for more than a few rounds, it adds up to an awful lot of waiting time.
I'm really hoping they'll fix it, because the gameplay is absolutely outstanding. It's the best bits of CoD mixed with the best bits of Team Fortress 2, perhaps even turned up a notch.
It doesn't have "loot", but it does have weapons with lots of attachments.
It's just really hard to love when it's put together with so many retarded systems, and the matchmaker really needs to improve. I never thought I'd wish for a serverbrowser, but it's finally happened!
DSB one question is as fast as COD?, i mean you need to have quick refleses like in COD, or i can manage to hold my own a little bit better than in COD? what you think
where are the reviews??
It kinda depends Manu. People certainly have more HP than they do in CoD, so you might feel like you get more action, but I'm one of very few players I've seen to have a positive K/D ratio.
What you might like is that there are lots of different ways to play. You can go for stunning people, sneaking behind them, sniping them from far away, placing traps, freezing them in place, and more, so there are lots of ways to kill or handicap the others.
I have a hard time saying whether it's more forgiving than CoD, but you do have more HP, and there are healthkits placed in certain spots around the maps. At the moment I'm playing Fumigation, which is basically Domination, and people of course die a lot playing that, because they're going for the objective.
Ok i will get it, i think you encourage me to get it basecally for the lots of ways this game has, thanks a lot for the input, really appreciated
Well so far my scorecard looks like this:
The Good
1. Great gameplay
2. Lots of customization - From class to weapons
3. Lots of gadgets - Meaning lots of ways to play
4. Great humor
5. Fun level design
The Bad
1. Matchmaker wastes 10-15 minutes before each game (VERY frustrating)
2. Has two different logins - WBID and GFWL
3. It's a paid game with micro-transactions to speed up unlocks or costumes
4. Currently doesn't support mute - All mics are OPEN
5. No drop-in during games - Meaning that lobbies can empty out even while the match is in progress
There's a patch coming in march that will fix the lack of mute, retune the matchmaker (adding drop-in during matches) and add even more options for customization.
But it's just really important to mention those bad things too. It's far from a perfect game. It's really fun, and I love the gameplay, but it's so hard not to notice all the things that's wrong with it.
Asking people to pay 15 euro and then adding micro-transactions is a crock.
So in short, if you want the best possible experience, wait for this patch, and prepare yourself for some silly systems.
If micro transactions are optional (nothing you can't attain in normal gameplay) then I don't see the issue myself.
Have you played it though, silk?
There are a lot of unlocks and costume pieces, and the costume pieces are all hidden behind custome coins or whatever the currency is.
I've finished first once or twice, and I've gotten maybe 140 coins for that. Some unlocks are reasonably priced, while some cost 1000 coins. That's one piece, out of 7-8 categories. And you have two different teams to make a costume for.
A good unlock system is supposed to empower you. It's supposed to open the game up and give you the feeling of experiencing all the aspects of it (including costumes in this case) while you're playing, having fun and succeeding at it.
In this case it's obviously tooled towards making more money.
Which would perhaps be negligible if it wasn't because the game barely works at this point. It's looking at an extremely hard road ahead if they're going to salvage the PC audience.
The game has so much potential, and it's really kinda heartbreaking because it's exactly the kind of FPS I want to play.
Sadly it looks like Monolith and Warner have managed to kill their own game. The player count is currently dropping day by day.
Not played it (yet) but looking into it. I guess what I meant is, are the unlocks vanity items or do they power you up? If it's the latter I can see it being annoying some rich kid just buying his way ahead of other players.
Well nah, like I said it would be pretty negligible if the rest of the game worked as intended. It stops short of direct gameplay advantages.
Basically it's XP boosts, vanity mascots and skipping ahead of unlocks.
It is a minor nuissance, and I guess it just compounds the frustration. I'm on PC, and we're spending at least 15 minutes (often more) watching the matchmaker misfire until we can get a game. It's kinda hopeless to even think of grinding levels and unlocks when it's like that.
I guess that's my actual problem. They've released a game that wasn't ready, using systems that don't make sense (like putting DRM on an online shooter, and then adding another account just for leaderboards) and then they have the audacity to try and unload DLC on us.
It's pretty much down to my own sensibilities, but I just think it's classier to make sure your customers get what they paid for, before you start trying to unload merchandise. It just adds insult to injury.
Eww DRM, well that alone I find off-putting! But the queues sound the worst. I don't think I'd bother with it unless they fix that. Why are the queues there exactly? Are the servers too quiet, or too busy?
I really wouldn't know, it's difficult to tell.
Quite often I get put in a lobby, and then the game starts, and I'm immediately disconnected.
Other times the matchmaker finds like two guys over the space of a minute, and then nothing happens for another five, and of course often that means people leave, but even if they stay, there's no guarantee that you won't be tossed into another lobby, or suffer another disconnect. Sometimes it just seems to reset.
It's just seems like a lot of hit and miss, and pretty random looking at it, but I'm no tech wiz.
Of course there's no drop-in either, so a lobby might empty out in the middle of a match (while obviously not letting anyone join) and the mics are all OPEN, so you'll see lots of people who don't realize it, having conversations with someone else, and lots of people just blaring noise. The only thing you can do about it, is leave the lobby.
It's definitely in a pretty poor state right now.
DSB i finally got it for the XBLA, and i experience the same things you did mentioned above, the matchmaking is the worst thing of the game really you wait long times to get to a match, or when you find other players all the sudden it crashes, i waste almost thirty minutes to play 9 minutes, but i think the games is worth it, i have 50 kills, 68 deaths and 57 assists as this moment and even though i dont have a great kill death ratio, i dont find it fustrating like COD, is very funny, inventive and the gadgets alongside with many ramps and springborads all over the place really adds a lot to the gameplay and the estrategies, i die in this game with an smile in my face, and thats something that COD or battlefield cannot said.
Also i like the menus, very funny overall, with a look of homemade menus, really funny and fitting to the overall feeling of the game, the microtransactions, although like you said they are items with a worth of 1000 coins, is a little bit steppy since in one match the most i did got was 30 coins, but i think that the reason is to ensure that people feel entice to play the game for a long time, but i find it ok; the weapons and gadgets are also good alongside with the perks.
I cannot express how much i love this game, and i think i will stay in order to see this game without the matchmaking issues, becuase it will be a gem, that will be played for a long time, i hope they fix this sooner rather than later in order to avoid that people will leave this game and dont give the well deserve oportunity.
Great game, horrible matchmaking. Spent more time in the menus than in the actual game.
Sad but true. It's looking like a certifiable disaster at this point.
Even the new Jagged Alliance has about five times the peak user count. That's pretty damn serious for a new online FPS on Steam.
It's almost worth writing an article about. 10 ways to keep people from buying your awesome game. I'm downright tempted.
What a tragic waste. There's no reason why it couldn't have done well. It's a failure by design, not by accident.
The patch is finally downloading on Steam!!!
Here's hoping that it'll fix the game, and that there will still be people around to play with.
DBS the patch has right now quite sometime on the 360, and IMHO it did improve a lot the experience, i will not say is perfect, but for me is good, now the playing time is bigger than the waiting time (bare minimun)
I gotta say it's a little clanky, but it works!!!
If you have 15 euro burning a hole in your pocket, I'd highly recommend checking it out. The systems still aren't great, and you still go through 4 different loading screens before you're faced with an actual menu, there seems to be a bit of lag here and there, and it's not great at refilling lobbies, BUT IT WORKS. You get a game in seconds.
I love it. It's just super contained, crazy, shooting fun. Rollerskates, ropeline-launchers, trampolines. Bring it on!
On second thought, don't waste your money.
It seems most people, including myself, are being disconnected whenever they try to join a match since last evening.
I don't think it would be possible for Monolith, Warner or Microsoft to fuck this up any more than they already have.
And with GFWL apparently requiring certification for patches lasting a month... Oh dear. Here's hoping it's an authentication server.
hi DSB.
