I recently gave the Twisted Metal demo a try, and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't really expect much from the game, and actually found it quite fun. What does everybody here think of the game?

i tried a few online matches and some single player, cant get online sometimes though. i think it's ok, nothing special in my opinion.
This is the game I wish I owned a PS3 for, i loved the twisted Metal games on the original PS.
It be nice if the online portion was working. Must have tried 50 times since it was released Tuesday, matchmaking error everytime. Not just me either so I've read.
Besides that, I like what I see so far. Doesn't seem worthy of a $60 retail package though. This should be a $20 download title.
Oh, and STILL waiting for orignal 1995 Twisted Metal to come to PSN store. That one was my favorite, and i don't know why they haven't put it there yet. Honestly? I was hoping they'd include it with new TM purchase and was kind of disapointed when I heard they went with Black... I know Black is probably the more publicly prefered game, I just prefer the original due to that first era of PS1 games fond memories and such...
Well you did only try the online portion out so to say the online part is worth 20 bucks is pretty good. Especially since from the interviews I seen of twisted metal they focus on a story just as much soo that would be another 20 right there. Throw on the free psone classic they have in there for 6 and that's 56 after taxes for all roughly 60 soo might be worth it
Tried it. Controls are really tight and responsive. Smooth framerate - feels like 60fps. Considering that and the scale it looks graphically good too.
Couple of odd problems though. When reversing left and right controls are counter intuitive - wrong way round compared to other game. Maybe this is a Twisted Metal quirk? Should have included an option on it though as it just feels wrong. Also invert look. You can for flight and turrets, but not for look around on the right stick - wtf? This is 2012. Every game should have these sort of options covered off. Both of these could be easily fixed with options but currently they are holding me off buying.
So I finally got into the online portion of the demo and as far as the gameplay, graphics, level design, and music....VERY impressed. I think the lobby/menu interface could use a little refining, but that's me being picky.
I'm definitley buying this game as I had a lot of fun with the demo.
Oh, and I take back my comment earlier about it only being worth $20. I'd say $40 easy. $60...well I never pay full price for games anyway so... (k-mart coupons)
From what i can see the game isnt actually being sold as a full price game, retailers are selling it round about 20€ cheaper. Not exactly a digital game price, but not 'full' either.
