halo ce annivesary kind of refreshed my love for halos mp. the anniversary mp maps are awesome, the magnum is great. i hope they keep it for halo 4. i played reachs mp for about 170 hours now. also i finished the sp game on normal, heroic and legendary in different playthroughs non coop. it´s extremely rare that i play through games several times. i love the campaign and enjoyed reach much more than halo 3 (which i also really liked). the reach story isn´t overwhelmingly great, but good. the levels are really fun and the gameplay is superb. 170 hours is not much compared to many other serious halo players, but for me it is a lot since i do not find that much time anymore to play games. i am one of those who like the changes they made in reach. i love the game and imo it beats all the other competitive mp shooters on the market. the combat system, gameplay, gametypes - it´s all so polished and close to perfection. i play shooters since they have been invented really. on consoles halo is not to beat imo. it is an almost flawless game and it is probably THE game this gen that is closest to a 10/10 imo (i havent played all the games so it´s more based on my experiences, but i played a lot of the AAA titles). i´m not saying the cods or bfs of this world are bad games...i played the hell out of both franchises, but mw3 and bf3 left me totally unimpressed this time around and due to time management problems i kind of decided to just focus on the king and specialize in halo. can´t wait for what bungie/blizzard are coming up with. if it really is the mmofps that is rumored it could be my dream come true. i really want a perfectly crafted shooter which i can play for years to come, with new content frequently coming. i really think bungieblizzard would be the perfect marriage for this kind of a hybrid game...just wanted to tell

In regards to HR they 've practically ruined 4 on 4 Team Slayer with AL, that ability should be completely taken out. Nades are overpowered, something like that has no place in Halo. They should bring back the proper rank system. I would drop the loadouts completely, the equipment was much better. Leave it to other games to have loadouts, Halo doesn't need them.
343 are doing a good job though so far, they already made this game much better.
As for maps they 're indeed excellent, though yet again would be way better if it wasn't for AAs.

on some maps the AA´s really do work imo,on powerhouse it´s cool to jetpack and to sprint for example. the jetpack/dmr combo really is great and i don´t feel like jetpacking is overpowered, because you are very vulnerable while in air. sprinting also is a great addition. sprint/powersword is the essence of videogamefun. it is powerfull but not overpowered. i agree with the armour lock problems, but not to the degree of saying it ruined the gameplay/ balancing. sticky grenade/ grenade timing and the armour lock douche is history. the nades are powerfull but not overpowered...but the anniversary classic playlist really is fun and kind of shows that all the aa stuff isn´t really necessary to make a great game - thats true. i also think 343 is really keen on making this franchise even better and really will try to make halo 4 the best halo game yet rather than just milking it. but i really think bungies goodbye with reach was great. halo never was so smooth, polished and sexy. aa´s must not be kept necessarily for me to enjoy halo, but if they keep them in some way i wouldn´t be pissed at all.

I was saying they are fine aside from the AL. It's that they should've went with the equipment system instead of this new loadout one. I think AL should only be left in BTB and Invasion, since it's whole purpose was to counter vehicles.. having someone blocking your sword/melee with their AA in a corridor doesn't make sense in Halo. I hate how teams sometimes use it too and they become virtually invincible. Jetpack is great, and so is the Hologram.
One thing I liked more in H3 too was the Chopper instead of the new mini wraith thing (Revenant).

Funny really I bought reach day 1 having played 3 on legendary a good while back.
I just could not get in to it for some reason.
I personally liked 3 more tbh.Posted 1 year ago # -
yes players abuse these things. i almost never use AL myself. it is great to counter vehicles as you said and was bulit for that in mind since they were kind of overpowered before. so yeah...probably would make sense to just let people use it on the bigger maps.

@reask: i just bought a copy of halo 3 and odst again. i finished those two on normal when they came out and i am now planning to have another playthrough on heroic and then maybe legendary...i enjoyed odst even more than 3 back then. i don´t know why, but i was a bit disappointed by halo 3 and can´t even explain why. i had HUGE expectations. never really got hooked to the mp of halo 3 as well. i only played 100 games or so. i enjoyed the game and it looked nice and all. i really cant say what it was that made me not instantly fall in love with it...that said: i just started the first level of halo 3 again and i really enjoy it....i played the german version before with german synchro...it was awful! they totally fucked it up and there was no english voiceover available. the english version is so much better. same was with reach. well knowing it this time, i bought the english version right away. my expectations for reach werent that huge. i played the invasion beta and was hooked right after my first game.

3 is great on legendary or heroic.
It was my first halo game so it just kinda caught my imagination.
AI was incredible I thought. In fairness when I played reach I was in the mp zone and sp games were not what I was in to.
I must go back to it again.I never could master the halo on line end of it.
Got slaughtered on 3 but held my own with reach.Posted 1 year ago # -
I' probably in the the minority here, but apart from the first halo, odst was my favorite game. it just seemed like the whole package considering it was supposed to be an expansion. i liked reach, but was disappointed, i was expecting more from bungie's last halo game. and no warthog run or legendary ending!whats up with that?

i really liked odst too. The nightvision was a cool and stylish feature and it was A moody game. Also it introduced firefight.
The reach campaign has a good pacing and is fun to play. Its not an outstanding story but the levels are all fun and feel and play different. You can really replay the levels- theyre all fun to play.

Odst is also my second favourite. It was the most immersive, albeit short and you didn't get to control the omnipotent Chief. Odsts get slaughtered way too quickly. I really liked searching for audio logs in the city at night, then you can listen to all of them in succession to find out Sadie's side story. And the humorous Brutes' dialogue too.
They should've killed off Romeo though :p Effin sniper.. shoot first think later.

@reask: i will try halo 3 again(i start heroic, legendary would take too much time right now)the week or so before christmas. girlfriends home with her family and poor me is all alone and will have lots of time. my mission: coming home from work, make coffee, close all dooors and windows, shut off mobile phones, ignore the doorbell, avoid sports, don´t forget to drink, eat, sleep just enough to stay alive, don´t forget to use the bathroom once in a while and have another halo 3, odst playthrough, rank up to general on reach mp, play the gears single player dlc and dump even more countless hours into skyrim...
