   With all the speculation regarding the Next Xbox running like around like wild fire at the moment, i just wondered if anyone has any predictions or wish lists for what Microsoft are likely to show at it's unveiling?

   I think MS are likely to show:

   Xbox 360 games can be upscaled in some way to 1080p
   Alan Wake 2
   Some kind of Gears of War spin off (maybe the Pendulum wars)
   Halo 4 to be shown in it's upscaled form running on the new hardware
   Epics Samaritan to be an Xbox exclusive
   A new exclusive Splinter Cell from Ubisoft
   Fable 4 running on the new machine
   All your Xbox 360 games and Avatars to be migrated using the Xbox Cloud
   All launch games available as downloadable titles

   What i would like to see:

   A slight revision to the 360 pad (not much as i find it pretty much perfect)

   How Kinect will work on the new hardware (out of intrest)

   Alan Wake 2 to be a launch game

   Nice fast hardware, not some kind of Xbox 360.5

   I like your list...
   The Samaritan video/demo was just to show of the ehancements to unreal engine 3, Epic has stated it's not actually a game in development, though that could change. It's not even Unreal Engine 4....

   I think the 360 successor won't release till 2013, but the reveal will be at next years E3 to take a bite out of Nintendo's 2012 Wii-u Launch.
   This launch lineup is based on that timetable.

   First party MS games - Fable 4, a new Killer Instinct from Rare, and a new FPS. Whether that will be a improved Halo 4, a Remake of Halo 2, a GOW game, or a FPS from rare, I have no idea. I'm not thinking Alan wake 2 will be a launch title. In the last few months i read that remedy was shopping for publishers, so that might mean MS isn't publishing it. I guess we shall see. I think MS will have three first party hardcore launch titles, but might have a few first party kinect titles.

   Third Party launch games - Fallout 4 from bethesda
   An upgraded COD game (that will be at lower res and performance on the old consoles) from activison
   Possibly a new Beyond good and evil, and some kinect style games from Ubisoft.
   EA will have a few sports titles and a Bioware title in the launch window.
   If that Crytek game doesn't get released in 2012 for 360, that will be a launch title.
   Something from Square-Enix maybe....

   Controller wise, headsets by default will be wireless, and there will be an something like the vita's touchpad or extra buttons on the bottom of the controller.

   The next system will have kinect in the box, I just hope MS doesnt focus on it too heavily. I bet they have plans for a lot more physics with the next xbox and its built in kinect too.

   My hope is it will have 4GB of memory and a nice large HD, or be able to use your own. 1080p will be its native res, no more upscaling, i hope.

   Lastly, the "loop" may not be an xbox but a device that will sell along side of it, to give you controller options not possible with just connect and a controller.

   Of course, that must be in the works! :) 1080p and 60 fps 2D metroidvania with some form of co-op would be great!

   Also, I'd love to see:

   Bulletstorm 2
   Dead space 3
   Red Dead 2
   Left for Dead 3
   Half Life 3 or Epidode 3
   Bayonetta 2
   Fallout 4

   But that's probably wishful thinking! ;)

   I think your bang on with the 2012 reveal. Interruption tactics seem the way to play it at the moment. Case in point with the VIta interruption of the 3DS.

   Def interesting to see if they bundle the same KInect device with the console or a slightly revised one. My guess is a smaller device with the same specs as the old kinect so it doesn't split the consumer base.

   The loop speculation is interesting too. I wonder if it'll end up being some kind of tablet device?

   I really hope not but I think backwards compatibility is out. It would probably mean having an actual 360 in the new hardware. PS3 had to have an actual ps2 emotion chip inside it to do BC and as we all know they ended up dropping that. Getting all games to work propery via emulation is a mammoth task, the guys doing PCSX2 surpassed what even Sony could do and its still far from perfect. Mabey we will see some limited BC like what we saw with 360 running some but not all Xbox games (not all perfectly either in some cases). I REALLY wish full BC was on the cards because theres just not enough room in my living room for 3 new boxes along with all the console related stuff ive got so already. I hope im wrong, I honestly do.

    Also, thinking about it... Surely the Wii U will be dead in the water once MS unveil the new Xbox and Sony the PS4?

    I've always been a massive Nintendo fan but I was really hoping they would pull out all the stops with the Wii U. I just cant see how it will survive against the competition. The motion sensing when the Wii released was genius, but I can't see how a cumbersome under powered tablet controlled device will have the same media friendly success...

    @monkeygourmet - I'm not so sure MS and Sony are going to release Powerhouse consoles as before. I hope they do, but the Wii unfortunately has shown them that a cheaper less powerful console will still sell like hotcakes if there is a gimmick. For MS, Kinect is that gimmick, and they will probably have it packed in or built in the box when the next xbox is released.
    I have heard rumors of 2GB of memory, I hope that isnt true, but it wouldnt surprise me. MS wanted to go with 256mb of memory last time but Epic changed their minds, so this time they just might go with 2GB rather than the better choice of 4gb to cut cost for that Kinect built in.
    I worry for the next gen, the days of super powerful consoles might have ended. I pray it has not.....

    @fearmonkey what we now know as Gears of War was also originally a tech demo for Unreal Engine 3...and Epic has stated that they will launch Unreal Engine 4 alongside the next generation of consoles and not beforehand, so they're pretty much just waiting...plus the Samaratin demo was running on multiple top of the line graphics cards

    They definitely need a Bluray disc or some sort of equivalent disc with equal space so that every game isn't on 2-3 discs...

    With all the 2013 launch speculation, I wouldn't be surprised whatsoever if the recently announced Rainbow Six Patriots is truly heading to next gen consoles as opposed to the current gen ones which it was announced for...if that's not the case then its gotta be Splinter Cell 6 @ luanch...Fallout 4 should be a shoe-in...curious to see something like STALKER 2 if it fails to make its 2012 release date, hold off to launch alongside the next gen consoles...

    Even though GTA V has been revealed, there's no question its a possibility, ever so slightly, that they could be planning that as a launch title for the next gen x box depending on when the console is revealed and planned to release...especially since I don't see GTA V launching before Spring 2013

    Definitely would like to see the next Half Life on there too

    so if the rumours from EDGE are true and we get two new consoles next year, could be possible we will see GTA V on them aswell as ps3 and 360?

    If the consoles are announced next year, there will probably be at least 18 months until release after that.

    The only company that I can think of who announces it's products right before release is Apple.
