   Well i'm playing on PS3 and so far so good. The first couple of games were a bit shit... Getting used to the controls and feel of the guns etc, but on the 3rd map it started to get good... Real good.

   I was riding around a humvee wondering where the fuck everyone was (not uncommon for this CoD fanboy, on BF's bigger maps)and saw them base jumping off a helipad... Fucking Awesome :D

   Hell i liked that so much i parachuted out of a helicopter... Good job too
   as the pilot decided to steer into a cliff a second later...

   Caspian Border was cool, lots of vehicles, heli's, jets etc. No problem for me rocking out with my Engineer class. You can keep your de-fucking-fibs, i got a Big Boom Gun!

   Only problem i got is its a bit quiet... Can i only talk to my squad? Oh and finding a quickgame was out. Had to select the server i wanted!! Fucking DISGRACEFUL!!

   @DSB If you remember our Origin arguments I specifically told ya that their customer support is a hellhole and brought up the similar experience I had with my BF2 Special Forces key. I only know 2 place that customer support full of knowledgeable people with skills and patience to handle your issue, Steam and Battle.net (WoW/Diablo/SC all of em) especially WoW GMs (I ocasionally have a run in with them and they call me by my first name).

   I give you an example. This is one of our forum guys, he apparently doesn't know shit in english, this was his ticket:

   "Service. I'm currently working. Can not get into your account. Like. I have one hack. Because I realized I have one email account or your username has changed. But I have not changed. To restore your account. What should I do?
   I am waiting for your response. Thanks
   account me : [hisemailaddresswhichIremoved]"

   This is what GM responded with full step by step walk-through and we helped him to retrieve his compromised account. It was really funny to me if it was me I'd have definitely ignored this ticket cause I for one struggled to understand what that is trying to say, but the BlizzGM not only understood but provided a step by step guide to retrieve the account.

   Same thing goes with steam, it is not out of loyalty or mindless fanboyism it's merely the matter of comfort and ease of mind. I ike those two because they put my mind at ease and I'm sure whatever happens there's a customer support service that will handle my issues, and I had plenty with both. :D

   So, I also say Origin can go and fuck itself, Cause I know on customer support, EA suck balls like no other.

   I still don't know what the big deal is tbh. The one thing Origin is ever used for is simply to click "Battlefield 3" once and then is completely forgotten. Everything else that is important is done from the Battlelog browser, which works fine.

   Using Origin has had zero impact on the way I usually game.

   It's not really about the client though viralshag. Origin does get it completely wrong in a lot of ways, like uninstalling which essentially just opens Add/Remove Programs, or getting rid of something like the Battlefield 3 Open Beta, which requires editing an .XML file, and thus entirely defeats the point of using a client in the first place.

   Fair enough, it's a new client, but EA is richer than the Vatican, and if they want to push other people out of the market, they need to deliver something that's worthwhile. If I'm going to do everything manually, you're not offering me a service.

   That's really not the main problem though, it's still far better than Impulse, but the problem I have with using it is the fact that I'm not given a real choice.

   EAs offer is "Do you want to use shitty services like Impulse or D2D, or our beautiful little sleek new client?" - Ultimately it's an offer that leaves out the best option available by not having the game on Steam.

   I'd be a lot more open to using Origin if I actually had a choice, and it wasn't being used as a proprietary shackle. Especially when it's being pushed by a major publisher, which is the most automatous and unreliable entity known to man, that sort of cheap coercion is pretty repulsive to me.

   Origin really is fucking terrible.

   If I see one more instance of the game not loading up through it and then when I attempt to exit I get told 'I'm sorry, BF3 is already open, please close', I am going to go genocidal.

   Oh and the fact that I have to reset or hard-reset my machine after Origin gets stuck trying to run BF3 on occasion, does little to restrain my newly reinvigorated murderous tendencies.

   One thing I hate about the singleplayer, which Black Ops also fucked up, is that my buddies keep getting me killed.

   They move forward into fire, and they don't get hurt. I follow and I'm dead in a second or less.

   I fully accept dying fast and paying for my mistakes when I'm playing on the harder difficulty, but it's pretty annoying when the AI is leading the way, and I have no chance to follow until I vacuum the guys who are apparently only dangerous to me.

   Still enjoying it, but it's got that random feel which is kind of uncomfortable. You can play a sequence two times and die under entirely different circumstances. One time when flanking the apartments, I got killed by people coming down the slopes, with no fire coming from above. The next time I hammer the people on the slopes before going forward, but this time there are guys lurking above who easily take me out.

   Single player on Hard is exactly the same as any modern fps I've played in the last several years - the bad guys do massive damage, have perfect accuracy and auto-lock on to the player ignoring any friendly AI as they seem to do almost no damage to the targets.

   So, yeah, pretty crap, but par with expectations.

   We all saw the 12 minute sp trailer that is basically the 1st full mission of the game with the bit on the pedestrian bridge where the player lets rip with an LMG on hoards of unsuspecting bad guys who run eagerly into hails of lead - it ain't like that on hard mode. It took me at least 5 tries to get past that bit, on at least 2 of those I was taken out before I even reached the LMG, despite crouching or prone and with friendly soldiers stood up around me. Kinda lame.

   I've seen it done a lot better personally. Another thing that puzzles me is the fact that the checkpoints seem to be everywhere in the beginning, when the difficulty doesn't really call for it, but once the game starts setting up major chokepoints, it starts putting 10-15 minutes of gameplay between them, easy.

   That's an effective way to discourage the player. I don't mind massive damage, I don't mind perfect accuracy, I like being challenged, but I do mind running into cheap "gotcha moments" whether they're completely random or completely scripted. Especially when it begins to waste considerable ammounts of my time.

   I love the campaign itself so far, I didn't even mind the on-rails stuff all that much, but it does feel like it doesn't want to be loved now and again. They would've done well to script it a bit better, at least on hard difficulty.

    I just played through three of the coop missions with my brother, and that was absolutely outstanding.

    I can see why the Eurogamer guy didn't like it, not playing it with friends. Unless you're extremely lucky, you definitely need a buddy with you, but the ones we played through were generally very good.

    The bridge one is kinda boring, simply knocking down guys and ramming tanks, but the helicopter one is absolutely hilarious. We spent a good 15 minutes just laughing at eachother and crashing choppers, but once you get it down, it's a hell of a lot of fun.

    Then the third is part stealth, part convoy protection. In the first part we were actually doing the CoD routine ourselves. You take the right, I take the left, 3-2-1 shot.

    It was awesome, which also brings out yet another really great feature, the party voice chat. As much as the servers and little Battlelog details seem to be unstable, the features are really great.

    But it's worth noting that coop will not automatically create an exception in Avast Antivirus, which meant that I've spent like an hour trying to restart and do all the usual workarounds needed to play the game, until I finally asked the internet and found out.

    That's just not very good. With BC2 it was Punkbuster thinking the Steam overlay was a cheat, and this time they didn't test out the most common free antivirus programs. Why the fuck not?

    It's just stupid, but the game itself is outstanding.

    WHY?!

    Seriously, it looks terribly stupid, especially in a game that's otherwise so complete. They should've had an option to disable it.

    I'm a little annoyed with the campaign right now. I mean it's good, but it's stealing so much from CoD that it's getting a little ridiculous.

    Within an hour I've been blown up by a nuke, and I've been killed in the first person, which is the most annoying thing CoD ever did. MW kills you in the first person twice, blows you up with a nuke and wounds you seriously towards the end. MW2 kills you in the first person twice, blows you up with a nuke and wounds you seriously towards the end.

    Now BF3 is heading the exact same way, with one nuke and one kill in the first person.

    That's a little disappointing, like the QTEs. Steal the good stuff from CoD, don't steal the bad.

    According to me,Because this is a catch. So, to keep fresh trend, providing tremendous experience and leave the sport massively multiplayer thing, a few hours of "Battlefield 3 will try to obstruct the fans have every player.

    Here's my final tally

    SP:

    Likes: Almost everything
    Dislikes: Bad scripting, same setpieces as Modern Warfare, QTEs

    The fact that it starts and ends with a QTE is really a disgrace. And a shame, since they got it so nearly right otherwise.

    MP:

    Likes: Almost everything
    Dislikes: Levelling system, maps, battlelog instability

    It seems that the Battlelog just wasn't done at launch, they've only just introduced the "feature" to queue you when a server is changing maps. The maps are a little too contextual. You got your tank map, your air map, your infantry map, and it tends to pigeonhole me into playing one class to stay competitive, when I might prefer another.

    The levelling system is a bit of a let down too. They have a bunch of cool weapons, but for whatever reason the starting AK's and M's are segregated, to be unlocked for free use once you've spent waaay too much time on the game. That's a kind of pacing, or lack of same, that I just can't get behind. The thing that prestiging, picking your own class, and throwing points at people does in CoD is that it makes the game feel like a challenge more than a grind. In this case the game isn't even trying to hide that grinding is exactly what's expected of you.

    Aside from that, unadulterated fun.

    Extremly fair DSB. I have the same situation. Also I find that Enginer is the most widly versital class. Meaning that I can use it well on most stages, even metro. My motto is: I snipe with rockets. I can not count the number of times I get double kills throwing rockets into muzzel flash. I think the enginer class is a bit op tbh.

    And I get tired of playing it. I am getting service stars for the class now, and my weapons are getting stars too. The problem I have with classes is that I stink at playing anything else. I don't understand how anyone can quick scope on the run and get headshots. Its beyond me.

    I have enjoyed the game a lot. But it is getting to the point now where I am mid/upper 20s in rank, and everyone else has become so good at the game I find myself pissed after playing rather then having a good time. Its too bad that the game doesn't have an actual skill ranking and match making that reflects the actual skill of the player. All a ranking shows is that you have sunk time into the game. I could sink thousands of hours into it, my reaction times aren't going to improve. a 15-20 yr old will out twitch me each and everytime.

    The game doesn't owe me anything, I got a lot of hours out of it. But at this point I can see me slowing down a bit and coming back to it here and there - like I did with BC/BC2.

    I agree OG. Engineers don't really have a lot of range, but since most firefights tend to be close anyway, they can spray anyone to death.

    I keep thinking about what I'd do differently about it.

    - Medic equipment moved to Recon
    - PDWs added to Recon
    - C4 moved to Assault
    - Flashlights replaced with flashbangs, possibly as a gadget
    - Carbine damage nerf

    Whenever I play Assault I tend to get twice the XP I normally would because it's so easy to grab 100 points for killing someone and then 100 points from some guy who's on the ground. It's just not balanced. I'd much rather have the Assault be able to go close quarters with vehicles using the C4, and leave the Support in the role of mortars and anti-infantry.

    Moving PDWs to Recon is perhaps not explicitly neccesary, but it would cast the class as a lot more diverse than simply Sniper/Spotter. I also think of the word Recon as being a lot more rounded and specialized, so having medical capability would both make them more involved in the actual firefights, as well as making people who want to be medics work for their XP.

    I liked the classes in BCone the best of the past three games.

    But imo.

    Assult should have C4
    Support should have all med(kits and defib)
    Recon should have mortar
    Assult should also have ammo
    Engineer should have claymore(and more of them)
    and flashlights should be removed and replaced with flash granades/smoke granades.
    I also think that many of the guns should be rebalanced.
    And there is a bad need for some more AA guns to be placed on more spots in some maps.
