BAttlefield 3, the most anticipated shooter this generation will be arrive tomorrow (for US at least)! Are your PC ready for it,guys? because as CVG review ( http://www.computerandvideogames.com/323587/reviewsbattlefield-3-review/?page=3 ) said :

"If you leave ideas like artistic direction and choreography at the door and simply concentrate on pure engine ability, textures, lighting, geometry etc. then the likes of Gears 3, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Rage and even Uncharted 3 are simply left gasping. It's a patent generational leap and the kind of experience you could easily imagine as a launch title on the next batch of consoles."

and

"After Frostbite 2, it'll be almost impossible to return to the staid, indestructible environs of rival shooters."

No matter if you are hardcore console fan, this game admittedly (on PC) will set a new benchmark for our next gen graphical fidelity! But, how about your PC ?? Is it enough to play it ??

1st, lets read system requirement for BF 3 :

Minimum System Requirements
Processor: 2 GHz Dual Core (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 2.7 GHz)
Memory: 2 GB
Hard Drive: 20 GB
Graphics card (NVIDIA): DirectX 10.0 compatible with 512 MB RAM

Recommended System Requirements
Processor: Quad-core CPU
Memory: 4 GB
Hard Drive: 20 GB
Graphics Card: DirectX 11 compatible with 1024 MB RAM

Personally, my PC is like this :

Processor : AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (suddenly died yesterday, replace it with AMD Phenom II x4 840 arrive next week)
Memory: 4 GB DDR 2 Ram
Graphics Card: HIS Radeon HD 6850 1 GB

I'm pretty sure my PC would be enough to handle it at 1680 x 1050 @30+ FPS on ultra settings (CVG setup was similar and it run 30+ FPS).

What about yours?? What is your PC setup looks like? Do you think it will be enough to play BF3 at your targeted resolution and frame rate?

(Meanwhile, if you're console gamer that want to build your 1st PC rig to taste this game with your limited budget and dont want to spend thousands of dollar with branded PC, I'll reccomend you to read this http://www.hardware-revolution.com/budget-gaming-pc-q4-2010/ and don't be ashame to ask about anything here)

Been playing it today and it is amazing. Looks beautiful and plays brilliantly. It is so hectic/frantic at times it scary...lol!

My Specs:

i7 950
XFX Ati 6950 2Gb (flashable to 6970)
6Gb DDR3 RAM

Happy days... :)

Playing the Single player campaign now,and I am truly amazed just how well this game is PC optimized!!I mean,after the recent Rage debacle(PC version)I almost cried(seriously)tears of joy and not because I am some PC elitist snob with the 1000 $ rig but just the opposite!!My current PC specs are mediocre at best,here they are:
CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 455 3,3 GHz
RAM: 4 GB DDR2 800 MHz
GPU: Radeon 6770 1GB DDR5
Everything on high(auto detected)with the vertical sync on I get around 60 FPS!!I couldn't believe it and had to do testing with the FRAPS over and over again and it it's true!Thank you so much DICE and you go now make Mirror's Edge 2(if it's not already in the works)with this Frostbite 2.0 engine and make me even happier ;) .

I am totally blown away by the game so far. Multiplayer is down for maintenance right now, so I have a few minutes to try the singleplayer, but still... wow. This game is a true treat for us PC gamers. Surprised I'm having only minimal framerate issues with practically everything maxed, at 2560x1440 (there's the occasional dip in FPS, but whatever. Any small issues will be fixed soon enough, I'm sure).

CPU: Intel i7 920 2.7 Ghz (currently only at the default clock. I have to OC once again. Had to return to normal specs a while ago to troubleshoot an issue, but that`s resolved now)
RAM: 6.144GB DDR3
GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 295

Glad to hear it! It's means that the game scale better than expected on mainstream hardware like mine and yours (not every PC game lover would spend thousand of dollar for their rig,you know!)
What resolution did you play it on,edo?? Have you tried to play it on ultra??

Playing it on 19" screen with maximum resolution of 1440x900.As I said,I don't think that my rig is "mainstream" (as you called it)at all(especially my CPU and GPU). I know that not every PC gamer spends 1000 $ on their PC(my PC costs around 450 $)it's those people that do have 1000 $ rigs and that childishly put other people down because of it(yes,including the console "peasants",they are people too you know :) )that are giving us true PC gamers a bad rap.Didn't try ultra settings I'm afraid that my gfx card will burst into flames :) .

My PC are not ready... My comp has started suffering the Windows Stank methinks, gonna reinstall tomorrow night and have a nice fresh slate for BF3

Yeah, my pc cost $250 in mid 2008(and + US$180 for video card in late 2010), and it's fine in nearly all games (including Crysis,Metro 2033,witcher 2) with playable frame rate(30-50 FPS) until my processor defect last saturday

No way is it ready.

But I do think I might be able to play on a 720p res with all settings off, and looking at the beta it actually looked pretty good. It resembles Bad Company 2 a lot in that way since that also looked good even on low settings.

I'm probably just going to loan it at my local library for PS3, not really in a hurry to play this.

2GB 800MHz(its more about the GPU than the RAM) AMD Graphics card
So yeah I'd say mine is ready.
It certainly was for the beta (all ultra), I'm pretty fuckin psyched I'm not gonna lie.
Course i have to wait a little longer cos i live on small island called the UK.

I wish I could build a new pc but I just renewed my car insurance £950

My Rig:
E8400 C2D @2.6ghz (did have it on 3.4ghz but my mobo sucks)
4gb Ram @800mhz (did have 6gb, but 2 sticks failed and cba to rma)
ATI Radeon 4850 512mb

I can run most games on medium to high @ 1080p
The beta was buggy for me I could only manage low/medium settings and it still felt choppy and in close range combat it would slow down to fuck.
I played beta on PS3 aswell and omg PC on lowest settings looks better than it lol.

Me too! Building new rig will always be my dream (just look at my spec above)! But for this time, a new processor would be enough!
And maybe, you should have sold your car for a new rig ! :P j/k!

AlienWare but made problems before, Intel 2 DUO, with 3GB, I think a new computer will do a far better job.

Just got myself a sc 4Gb gtx 670 (no need for the 680 after much deliberation), next up the dell ultrasharp monitor to take full advantage. V excited to say the least... :) I can not wait to play ultra bf3.

If anyone wants an unlocked 6950 (6970) give me a shout... ;)
