Well most web games are strategy games there are some popular titles like Travian, Farmville, Age of Empires, etc. There some space MMO ones that are 3D like Battlestar Galactica and Black Prophecy. There are bunch of Facebook games some of them are on Google+ too like Mafia Wars, Dragon Age Legends and such. Also EA hase some cool Free 2 Plays on Play4Free website. Some of them like Battlefield and Battlefield Heroes might need downloads. There is Quake Live too.
This is pretty much all I know, oh there is Drakensang RPG too, no downloads 3D RPG game. Not sure it's released yet.
Heroes of Neverwinter or Neverwinter Heroes is another RPG like Dragon Age Legends, flash based cartoonlike.
This is it. These are the ones I know, though most of them might require minor transactions, but usually they're playable without spending a dime.
