I am surprised you thought that Giga.
I decided to go hardcore with the campaign wondering how far I would get before giving up.I struggled big time on 2 in hardcore but managed to finish it.
I am on act 3 now chapter 1 and it has been so so easy that I am finding it hard to want to continue.
In fact I put in resistance 3 again to try it on superhuman as I was so bored with gears been too easy.Maybe it does get more difficult but I should not be finding it this easy so far in.
Lovely looking game but you are been literally led by the hand through it imo.You know I am a gears fan so this is not flaming but my honest experience.

Tbh, I didn't like it at first, either.
That might seem strange after reading my OP, but that was how it was.
Initially, until midway through Act I, I was like: 'STUPID WHINGEY MOANERS, WHINGING ABOUT COLOUR!! THEY MADE EPIC TURN THIS GAME INTO SOME SORT OF RAINBOW-FEST!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!'
I personally prefer the desaturated, gritty, dull grey and brown tones of the first two games. I even went into the options to see if I could zap all that colour straight back off my screen, but there's no such option in this version for some reason.
I just felt that the handfull of haters who complain about the lack of colour had made Epic change the game against the wishes of the proper Gears fans.
On top of that, I was also finding it much easier than I was expecting, too. It does start off quite slowly, and much of Act I is basically point and shoot without needing to think too much.
However...
After a certain point it all changes.
There are gritty, desaturated environments and night missions as well as the initial colourful daylight ones.
It's still quite easy, to a certain extent, but it turns into something that I've seen so many other games struggle to be over the years, but never quite achieve.
The only real sour point was the last boss fight which really, really annoyed me for a while, because it wasn't clear what I had to do, and I spent ages trying to do the wrong thing.
Anyway, I usually play through Gears twice, and I've unlocked the hardest setting now, so I'm sure it will be more challenging.

I know you are a pretty good gamer so I might carry on to see does it pick up a bit.
Did you play it on hardcore?I mean its a well made game but I honestly expected it to be much more challenging than it has been so far.
When you go down 9 times out of 10 you get revived.

Yeah, I played it on Hardcore stright away.
You do get revived a lot, but you may well be happy for this during the later levels.
I'll see if I can try it on the harder setting tonight, and let you know how it is...

love the sp as well. such an awesome game. i even didn´t wanted to pick this up straight and actually wanted to buy rage first and play gears later...i am so glad that i changed plans. it is an almost flawless game with so much replayability. the mp is challenging and fun. i liked the first two gears and played them online a bit but never really got hooked.imo the changes they made in 3 are just right. extremeley well worked out game. well woth every cent...at least a 9.5 if not even better in my book (haven´t finished th sp yet - i am chapter V first mission right now...played far too much mp and pciked it up late) BLOWN AWAY...

Yeah its deffo picking up now in act 3.
Is it a big spike on insane?On a side note you should check out kz 2 and 3 on the ps.
2 is very very hard on highest difficulty.
I managed to get to the last bit before final boss but never could go any further.
3 is a little bit easier but a really good game.

Yeah, it's much harder. I only had a quick go, but the it's probably slightly more difficult than the previous two versioins.
I tried the KZ2 demo ages ago and just didn't like the movement. I might try the KZ3 demo, though, if there is one...

gears 3 was solid, a great gameplay experience, nice graphics and all that. but the best uve played? fuck man, u dont play lotta games do u?
ive played several games only this year that are way better.

mass effect2
resistance3just to name a few.

For me is a Goty so far, what a bang to finish this series, for me is one of the best singleplayer games out there it deserve to be alongside with the greatest classics , on the multiplayer front is a blast with a lot of game types, although iam pretty bad on multiplayer but i will keep on trying, horde and beast are the modes for me, but horde on the later levels is so hard man berserk, the machine gun guys, reapers, it throws all the big fellas at once damn is so hard, so far i reach level 40 on normal, i cannot imagine how it is on insane.

Absolutely loved it, very enjoyable co-op. I would recommend a bout of 4 player insane because it may even be harder without the CPU. Just wait till you get a drone with a Boltok who one shot kills everybody :P.
Slightly lacklustre ending though IMO, last boss wasn't great either.GOTY so far IMO (Though you can probably tell by now I'm a big Gears fan)

I went back to it the other day to carry on with it and try and finish it.
My personal impressions having reached the third quarter of act v chapter v.This really is a very good game.
Sure its a bit too easy in the first 3 acts.
Thing is when the ante is upped about 2 thirds through act 4 you realise how good this game is.You choose your weapon wisely but not only that.
You realise the limitations of choosing a certain weapon.
I could go on but I hate typing.Bottom line for me is that this game is made well with a lot of choices needed to be made by you which can totally alter your battle plan.
Good stuff epic.I only discovered last night how good the multi is.
This is not gun and run.
You go for the weapons on the map to get a better k/d ratio but like sp they have there limitations.
Sorry if this is limited but if I was talking about the game I could go in to a lot more detail.

Just finished campaign on hardcore.
Last boss was a bitch.Excellent game really although a little bit too easy at times on hardcore.
Looking forward to insane as this game puts a lot of good things in to the use and choice of weapons.Played a bit of horde earlier and got to wave 20.
Fucking berserker's man I mean I forgot those bitches were so tough.Very hard to fault this game on the overall package.
