Just had a weird glitch just there. Shot the drake from up on that parapet (that is guarded by a tough Dark Souls poster boy knight), with one feather arrow, he flew off, disappeared and I got 10,000 souls just like that. :-o

Used my souls and went around to check on the drake and sure enough, he's dead. :-o What a lucky glitch. :-) Got four levels worth of souls from one one measly feather arrow. X-D

^ Hum, think i'll try that. :D

Me to!
I'm lvl24 and at a bit of an impasse, could do with some free souls like that!

I can't even get him to stay on the bloody tower long enough to shoot him. I'm not to bothered though, I have a lovely Gargoyle Tail Axe +5 which I'm now waiting to turn into a divine weapon.
Finally rang the bell yesterday after giving co-op a try. Worked really really well. Now in DarkRoot dealing with some really horrible green knight things. Thankfully found a bonfire nearby though.
Have to say, I thought Demon's Souls had a grip on me when I imported all those moons ago, but this is insane. It's very rare that I don't have my eyes on some other game on the horizon, and as a big Uncharted fan who loves the MP freebie on PSN Plus, it's a hell of a thing to say I won't be interested in anything else until I've completed this.

You know what's funny? The intro tells you that "the dragons were no more." Not even 5 hours into the game and i encounter 2 dragons. One of them couldn't be healthier.
Story is just an afterthought again, isn't it?
The world itself is way to cheery and colorful sometimes.
Have not rang any bell so far. Made the mistake to walk away from Dead Burg and discover other areas. Killed that one Huge Ass Guard protecting the entrance to the forest with them Crystal Golems. Didn't try to fight them.
Tried to fight them ghosts, got some nice loot, still lost twice, no curse around, so no way to fight them for now.
Tried to walk into the Blighttown, got Toxicfied and nothing to cure it. Ran like an idiot into it and found a new set of armor. Was worth it.
Blighttown is one of the most disastrous areas in videogame history. I don't know how they could release the game in this state. It's nearly unplayable with all its stuttering. In a game where every hit counts you might they want to pay some extra time on that.
Totally frustrated to no end, just now read some help on the internets and discovered that i first should try to ring the bell at Dead Burg, before i try my luck anywhere else.

Just so everyone is aware: Yep, that dragon glitch totally works. Once you come out from under the bridge, after the rats, you'll go up a ladder, here to the left you'll see a flight of spiral stairs leading upwards. At the top of this tower is a Dark Knight so watch out. Once you beat him, stand near the edge where the wall is broken and fire an arrow at the dragon. It'll lose health then jump forward, only rather then landing on the bridge, it'll disappear. Nothing will happen for a moment so head down, at one point you should hear the dragon roar then you'll gain 10000 souls. Dont forget to check the other side of that bridge.

^ awesome.
Now I just have to kill that prick at the top of the tower ; \

Get the Drake Sword and just keep circling him and stabbing him in the back. It might take a few tries but with the Drake Sword its far from impossible.

Cheers Geki. I've got the Drake sword, so he's as good as dead : )
I've had a couple of days without gaming (30th Birthday - yay me), so I'm super excited to get back into this tonight.

Happy Birthday Deacon! Wooo!
30 eh, that's a bitch! Maybe you should rename to OG-Deacon, Haha ;)
Only another 4 years for me until I reach that age, so I have some time still to take the piss.
Gratz anyway mate!

No bother Deacon. :-) Let the record state that on the 13th of October, the year of our Lord 2011 TG rang the second bell and went to an even scarier place yet again. He was never seen or heard from again.

I just got into The Depths. There's a fat off rat in front of me which is scaring me a little bit, but I think I'm going to be okay because I've just upgraded my Scimitar to +8 :D.
Also, is anyone using the Black Leather Armor? It looks amazing.

Sen's Fortress is crossing the line a bit now in fairness. :^/

Ended up heading to the Catacombs rather than Lower Deadberg (i keep going the wrong way in this game). That place is cheap as hell, i slowly slugged through all of the retarded resurrecting skeletons, killing the monks, then fought a dark knigh which i had on choice but ot fight seeing as its blatantly in the way (this tipped me off that i might have headed to a place i shouldnt be yet), came across these stupid wheel enemies then met a boss, a proper one with an FMV. The boss seemed relatively easy compared to the journey there, actually right now most of them have been. i didnt beat it, but if i put a bit more effort i could have.
Anyway, after that i decided to backtrack and eventually found the door down to Lower Deadberg, now i'm in The Depths.
I hate how the game gives you a key then just expects you to know where to use it. I didnt even remember that stupid door near the dragon bridge existed, let alone know i had to use that key on it.

Sen's Fortress is just too much. Seriously now. :-(
Posted 1 year ago # -
god DAMN Ceaseless Discharge!! ; (
I've been killed about 20 times running.
Posted 1 year ago # -
I just got cursed :(. I had no idea those gecko looking things could be so hazardous to my health. I also had no idea how annoying being cursed is, and how annoying it is to get uncursed ><. Now I have to magic up 3000 souls from someplace easy.

I never really felt like quitting until now, in Sen's Fortress. It's fine getting cut to ribbons and learning how to fight monsters and what not, but timing these fucking axes again and again and a fucking gain, it's like pulling teeth. I am not having fun. At all.

Thank you Jesus, bonfire found, having fun is back on the table. ^-^

After finally having my connection installed, I played DS online for the first time last night.
I honestly don't think I would've been able to defeat the big, titties-out spider boss without the help of a brave adventurer (and the NPC). What a great battle to have two people helping you with! Fantastic.
Worked beautifully, and you still get plenty of those times where the aggro comes to you, and you basically have to leg it and dodge like fuck to stay alive. This is the thing I love about DS - the heart-pounding, edge of seat moments that you just don't seem to get in other games these days. I don't anyway. So yeah, now I'm stuck. Miles away from the surface, faced with this big fiery orange fuck, Ceaseless Discharge. I've tried luring him back to fall off the cliff, but he just sits there throwing shitty attacks at me. He just won't come far enough!
Melee just ends when I roll too late and get 1-shotted.
HALP PLEASE!?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Bizarre. I had checked the Wiki and read how to beat him, but I just couldn't get him to fall from the cliff. Tried today and got it first time.
Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire...

Gotta say this is the toughest mother f**ker of a game I have ever ever played.
I rented it monday to see would I like it as I aint an rpg man by nature.
I have 7 hours in and am on lvl 6 with no hope of getting much further lol.I have played my current section maybe 20 times to no avail.
not sure what its called but you start with the bow and arrow guy and the merchant is down the stairs when you break the boxes.Excellent game but damn tough imo.
Fair play to devs for doing this as it makes a pleasant change from the current formula of been led by the hand. Will I stick with it?
Not sure tbh at this stage but it is a very good game for anyone wanting a challenge.Posted 1 year ago # -
Hey Reask. You need to head on up through that area, then up the spiral staircase to the next (easy) boss. There are lots of minions on the way though.. As with the rest of the game it's just a case of taking your time.
Good on you for trying it though mate!
Posted 1 year ago # -
I done that but that mother f**ker just pummels me straight away.
I tried climbing the ladder and killing the 2 snipers but he jumped up to me and wamma damma.I reckon im done tbh as its just a grind for me at this stage.
I don my hat to braver souls than me but 6 hours on lvl 6 is a little more than I can take I reckon with no hope in sight. :(Posted 1 year ago # -
I was kinda planning on probably buying the game next year, but i also had serious doubts about it. And now that i watched this 'review' , especially the complaints...i'm not sure if i'll ever get the game, that is...if what he says is true.

^ are you taking this guy seriously?because he doesn't actually review the game.he just blathers for 30 fucking minutes, controversial comments on the game aside.
in the end this was supposed to be "Dark Souls in a nutshell"...the ironyPosted 1 year ago #
