Well, we all knew the games flood would start around this time. Lots and lots of big AAA releases are coming in the next few months, the question is:

What are you looking forward to most and what if any game/s are you going to miss out on?

Also do you trade your old games for newer titles?

Having almost finished Gears 3 (which is incredible fun in co-op campaign), next up for me is Dark Souls from Namco. I really loved Demon Souls although i'll be getting this one on the 360. It looked fantastic and played great when i tried it at Eurogamer so it's a definate must buy from me.

Because of Dark Souls, Dead Island and Gears so close to each other, this has pushed Ico / Shadow of the Collosus out of my budget as well as Batman Arkham City and Resistance 3...

Is anyone actually going to clean up?! There must be at least 10 titles out over Christmas that are worth adding to the collection!

I made a list of games I want and then from that list I picked the games I wanted the most which are Rage, Skyrim, Silent Hill Collection,Silent Hill: Downpour and TOR. The other games will have to wait until a later point probably get Asylum City in January while I wait for ME 3.

Ha! I forgot about Rage!

That did look amazing at Eurogamer expo, i say it from afar and thought it was the PC version running, very suprised to find out it was the 360 version when i got up close. It does look fantastic and was good fun to play.

Skyrim is a must aswell, although i may wait a while till i finish Dark Souls. I find if i have more than one RPG on the go at the same time the stories merge into one for me and it gets rarthe confusing!

I could try and create a similar character for both games however, that may help...

is demon souls any good? i heard dark souls was the 360 version of the game and there does seem to be alot of good reviews

but for me i don't see any good games this year, i was looking forward to battlefield but the beta has really put me off and skyrim looks amazing but i would rather get it on xmas when all the glitchs have been patched. batman arkham got really boring when the plants came and that so i aint sure about arkham city. i really want metal gear but i have no idea when that's coming out.

I love Demon Souls, if you have a PS3 it's well worth picking up! :) It has an incredibly steep learning curve, but once you get the hang of combat and healing regularly it becomes really addictive. It has a very solitary, haunting feel to it as you play and almost a survival horror theme running through it. Very unique. The multiplayer is really revolutionary aswell, you can leave messages for other players to warn them of potential traps or enemies ahead and how to combat them.

Well worth trying out and def think about trying Dark Souls! :)

Demon's Souls is the bane of my life. I just didn't have the patience to finish it or get very far. Despite the never ending rage it seems to burn in side of me, it is a great game and definitely worth a go. I'm a glutton for punishment so I will be getting Dark Souls too.

So far I have already bought more than I thought I would. My purchases this last quarter, including pre-purchases on Steam and Origin look a little like this:

Rage, Skyrim, Battlefield 3, SWToR, Driver, Space Marine, Deus Ex, Hard Reset, Dead Island and Gears3.

I also plan to get:

Dark Souls, Batman, FIFA, AC: Revs, ICO HD, Uncharted 3 and MW3.

Maybes are:

War in the North, Forza 4 and Might & Magic Heroes VI.

It's a pretty huge and awesome list as it is. I'm sure there are a few I have missed out. As I have most of the big ones pre-purchased earlier in the year, it's really not made the rest of it seem so bad spread out over 3 months. I wouldn't normally spend so willy nilly and this period is by far the most I have spent on gaming but so far, it's been totally worth it.

I'm annoyed that I haven't played Demon's Souls for a while now... I got pretty far into it too, but somehow drifted away, seduced by games that actually allow me to blink whilst playing.

Had a good hands-on with Dark Souls at the EG Expo, and I'm utterly psyched.

With the adventure/RPG genre being my favourite, I've had Dark Souls on pre-order for months now. I don't see myself buying any of the other great-looking upcoming games day 1, except maybe Skyrim.

These two, the upcoming Dead Nation DLC, and Deus Ex (still playing) will see me through into 2012, at which point I'll probably pick up UC3, Rage, & BF3.

Oh, I forgot SotC and ICO..

@ Deacon, have you seen that stupid 30 minute run through of Demon's Souls on YouTube? I watched this guy do in like 30 minutes or an hour, what I couldn't in like 5 days. I have tried emulating it and done alright but just always slip up somewhere. Here's the link:

Yeah I've seen one of those before.. and whilst impressive, videos like these highlight the only glaring flaw (imo) in an otherwise excellent game.

If you know the order in which to do things, and know which spells / weapons to go for, it makes the game considerably easier than if you go it alone.

I simply couldn't resist checking a guide on occasion, as I didn't want to spend the entire game struggling like fuck and missing out on good items that were available early on.

It just seems very easy to exploit, given the correct know-how.

I still fucking love it though.

Bringing it a little bit more back on topic, one thing I love about mass game releases is simply stocking up on awesomeness to play through.

I think to myself, I'm going to buy these games anyway, so I might as well just get them now while I don't have many other financial commitments other than the usual bills and whatnot.

For anyone that has a shred of care I can't recommend Gears 3 enough, I have honestly never remembered enjoying a game so much. With a group of friends (Pretty much essential) it is very enjoyable.

I can't see this leaving my Xbox until Skyrim, which will probably be the only other game I'll get day one this year. Others I'll wait for the price drops.

Agreed Crab, well, I haven't even started the SP yet. I'm really enjoying MP. A lot more than the previous games.

The only problem I have is trying to get a random Horde match, I just never seem to find any :(

I really want Dark Souls too, but I will probably get it later when I have nothing to play. Same goes for Fifa 11.

Also I have to agree with you about Gears 3, I haven't played a multiplayer game this much since COD4.

Hmm I've only just noticed that my top games will be all purchased for my PC - apart from Uncharted 3 that is. It really is a good year for PC gaming; especially with games like RAGE and BF3 on the way.

Skyrim, Arkham City, Battlefield 3 and Uncharted 3 are about it for me. Everything else I couldn't really care about.

Except for Ico / Shadow of the Colossus. It's funny, the game I'm most excited about this season is a re-release of a decade old game.

Well you can add FIFA12 and Ico to my bought list after this weekend. That and Blood Bowl thanks to a Steam Deal :D

FIFA 12 is fantastic by the way, so far it's gone down as a big hit after we had a lot of MP sessions over the weekend. Shame I can't say the same thing about the EA servers during online games for me :(

expecting ico collection to arrive today, then pes 2012 next week. gonna put aside a few for xmas such as forza 4, uncharted 3, mgs hd, batman, saints row and one of the big fps games.

i thought the same mate but i tried the retail build at the local game store yesterday and it feels/plays like the classic ps2 ones also being more fluid than the other entries in the series this generation.
