I don't know If theirs awards for videogame boxart, but if their Is, then Resistance 3 gets my vote. Bold, striking, simple & effective. The more I see of it, the more interested I am in the game... Which is something as the previous 2 left me cold.
Maybe i'm overly impressed a shooter cover Isn't just another "broody man; with gun", but fuck it, I think its great... I'd have it as a poster :D

Sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree. I think the new R3 cover is brilliant (I believe it's Olly Moss who's been involved, which explains a lot) and a lovely change from the generic standing bloke we usually get on games box art.
Like Deus Ex:HR, Counter-Strike Source and BF2. Ooh look, a bloke with a gun. How imaginative...
I'd agree with L4D though, I liked that one :)
It's not just about "ohhh i like that one" though, it's also about the box art portraying the reality of the game which I thought CS:S did well, plus the front of the BF2 cover wasn't exactly whoopteedoo but I always loved the back of it.
I'm not saying R3 cover doesn't portray the gameplay, just that it never got me excited to play like the others.
I think I'm a little like OrbitMonkey in that it's just so great to see something different (and I like that they've made it so you can reverse the inlay so that you get the image without all the logos and labels on it). I guess with most gaming subject matter, there isn't really a lot you can do with the box to make it different anyway.
