Treyarch are probably (or obviously) working on the next CoD. Codenamed 'Iron Wolf', according to someone's internet investigations...

Dedicated servers are confirmed for the PC version, but Acti still has concerns about cheating (pirated copies). Acti could possibly be using the "millions and millions of dollars for real world prizes", that it's apparently already budgeted, to justify some new sort of DRM.
Just speculating, though...

The new perks have apparently been unveiled.
Woodysgamertag did a video on them, which Activision had taken down, so there must be some truth in whatever he said. Since then, others have made new videos.

CoD Elite is supposed to be so stat-tastic, it will help to expose the cheats.

Sledgehammer's CoD based action TPS is dead!
Sledghammer boss Glen Schofield says it was "too niche", so they probably won't go back to it. (or it was canned, more like...)

Nice to see no slander in this thread, CoD is a very touchy subject in the mind of most gamers. I'm not a personal fan, I think that it's too basic, no vehicles & very little gimmicks, like aliens or zombies (which is why I only like Treyarch's version), but most gamers are happy with it so I don't see why I should go around claiming that my preferences are superior to yours', it's all about perspective.

best thing that could happen to cod if they have a system where everytime you move you gain extra points for end game bonus which will stop people from camping.

Nothing wrong with a little camping, it's not like they're invulnerable by laying still, although a good camper gets a kill or Two then moves on to another campsite.

I'm primarily a Battlefield player myself, but the instant action style of CoD's MP has appealed to me for a while now. I haven't actually played CoD MP since MW1 back in the mists of 2007 though. Do you guys *estimate* that this will be a good point to jump back in since i'm planning on nabbing myself a copy.

In all honesty, there's no way to tell until we get some feedback from serious CoD players on the quality of the MP.
They seem to be making a lot of changes, and this is the first IW release sans West/Zampella, so there are a whole lot more unknowns that you'd usually expect from a CoD sequel.
Having said that, they seem to be paying a lot of attention to what gamers are saying for this one, and pretty much every single preview of the Spec Ops mode that I've seen has been overwhelmingly positive.
My hunch is that they'll also try and put a few maps/game modes in to try to appeal to the BF crowd as well, so sure... why not jump back in?

The CoD XP tournament should be about a week away, so there should be loads of info on the MP coming out of that.
