Is it me or is it madness that Ubisoft could add 3D support in the options but NOT Y-axis invert?!?!?!?!
I feel ive fucking wasted £7.99 on Choas Theory HD because i simply cant play it otherwise.
This needs to be sorted, anyone else think so?

Are you serious?? They had better patch that shit in cause that's the only way I play any game! And I want this HD trilogy BAD
Yep. Ubisoft at it's old tricks again, first BG&E now this.. I wrote to them via there contact us but no reply as yet. The game is pretty much unplayable for alot of people who've purchased it, it's sad.
So up's up and down's down? No changing? Jeez, even the original console versions had that.
I played Chaos Theory in january on PC with my 360 controller and it had invert options...
Seriously. I'm an "invert Y axis" on all console games kinda guy. If they don't fix this for the US release, they lose my sale. Unfortunately, that sucks more for me than than it does for them.
There's a Madcatz controller range with a hard invert button. Will have a look...
I never realised how much gamers are similar to me in the way they have there controls. So many people are complaining that ubisoft will have no choice but to patch it.
Had a look for that Mad Catz controller with invert switch but I can't find it :(
Seen it before though, I nearly bought one for Silent Hill Homecoming which also had no invert option.
I need invert. It's just the way my brain works :D
Had high hopes for this HD collection. I am disappoint :(
Well least you haven't wasted £7.99 like I did.
Your good.
They will patch it, just a matter of when. But I imagine you want to play just now. I feel your pain brother.
Trust me, it was mate.
Specially the fact it was my last tenner.. ffs
Ubisoft replied with this from the Playstation Blog:
"Hello
I apologize for my late response but i needed more time to look into this issue.
Firstly I’m sorry to hear that so many of you are facing issues because of the absences of the inverted axis.
i have forwarded this to the concerned people and they are looking into this.
Hopefully by next week I should be able to let you know if a patch would be made available to address this issue.
I request that you be patient as even if there is a patch then the formalities, implementation, tests and arrangements for this in all 3 games will take a minimum of 6-8 weeks.
I cannot provide any concrete information right now, however i can assure you that this query is being looked into.
Thank you for your time and patience"
8 weeks? EIGHT WEEKS!!!
So basically what there initially telling me is to keep my excitemement to replay these titles until november when the biggest titles of the year is out such as.. you lot dont even have to be told whats out for then really.
Definate refund imminant.
dood... if you can do it in 2 day... Go ahead. You know, its all about programation and sometime it can really be a bitch.
Once they have implemented the invert axis they have to check if everything is allright and if it dont cause some crashes and glitches, after that sony have to look up at the patch and if its a faulty patch you have to re-work again.
It can take some time but i must admit 8week sound huge for a patch like that. My guess is that its not the top priority of ubi at the moment.
It will be when refunds comes in thick and fast. Ubisoft re-released these backcat games for a reason... Money! - Not to do a nice thing, they need fix whats broke otherwise people wont part with their money for there product.
Its as simple as that.
@KAP
Couldn't agree more with the laziness of this set of 'HDification' ports.
The shockingly unstable frame-rate is another cross in the box too if i'm honest. They need to sort that shit out ASAP - there is simply no excuse for it.
Hugely disappointing.
A user from the Playstation blog wrote this about refunds:
"Well, I’d no luck getting a refund. I talked to Sony and it turns out that the T&Cs for the Playstation Store state that all sales are final. So, Sony gave me a Ubisoft number to try 0905-4820109."
How much you wanna bet that Ubisoft will palm us off back to Sony?
This is the ugly side to the rights that Gamers has in this bloated industry.
Should have brought the disc version if you were planning on returning it if you werent satisfied. Not being able to return a digital game is a given...
I dont quite get why anyone would want inverted camera controls in a TPS (or anything game for that matter), but whatever.
^ Personal preference ofcourse but I'd be willing to bet half the population prefers invert while the other prefers normal.
To me, it all started with GoldenEye007 on N64. The analog stick is my head. If I want to look down, I tilt my head forward (up), if I want to look up, I tilt my head back (down).
It just makes sense. Been hooked ever since. Even with camera controls in 3rd person. It just feels better to me.
Personally, I LOVED the way Infamous sets up there control scheme. They tell you to look left then look up, and however you do it, THAT'S how they config the controls. Brilliant.
I've never really understood why you would want an invert. It feels right when your flying something but why would you want it normally. Why should pushing up make me look down? Really its got nothing to do with practicality or real reason its just that it makes more sense to just coordinated the stick the same as the moment. But thats just me.
Only reason different people have different preferences is because their used to one or the other. I swear the older (older but not necessarily old) gamers tend to like inverted more, is that cos arcade used to be inverted? Or was that a thing that games just used to do.
@Noodlemanny
Think of the stick as controlling your neck and invert makes sense. I'm an inverter too and will never buy any of these games without an option.
I bought all 3 HD titles and I'm so annoyed at the lack of control settings.
I've managed to play for a few hours with the default Y-axis and now it feels funny when playing any other games such as an FPS.
Talk about shoddy ports. :-\
@Gekidami
"Should have bought the disc copy.." Dude, in hindsight your right, but how was anyone supposed to know Ubisoft would add 3D support but leave a standard option like inverted axis out?! Really.
And the fact that you dont get why people would want inverted camera controls is almost like people saying "I dont get why people play as only snipers in FPS's or only as support or run and gun.. etc " - Its a bloody preference! PLAIN & SIMPLE! - Sorry mate, i didnt mean to snap its just that it annoys me that people dont get that games has an "options menu" within them for a reason.
@Dr.Ghettoblaster
I never looked at it deeply like that but your so right.. it makes so much sense thinkin of it that way. And the fact that they had the feature in so long ago its clear that alot of gamers have adopted the way to play many other genres like that too. For a game in 2011 not to have this feature yet have 3D support is very ironic, that i cant help but laugh when someone like Gek & Noodle doesnt understand why some people play like that today lol
Give those two a very popular game that they play like say COD or Battlefield 3 etc, have it accidently shipped with ONLY inverted Y-axis and watch the very same people complain about it lol again key word here guys: preference. and for a game today to not have that - shameful.
FUN FACT: 62% of COD gamers prefere inverted Y-axis.
@Gizkata
Yea, i did that then went back to play bound in blood and almost felt drunk.. i couldnt aim to save my life.. literally! lol
I HAAAAAATE that!!! - I wanna play SC CT so bad but dont wanna endure myself through that again. so i'll stand my ground and protest to ubisoft some more that we get this shit patched. And sooner then stated.
@DrDamn
Well if you move your head up and down your neck stays pretty much stationary. But I still see where your coming from (and agree).
"Fun fact - 62% of cod gamerz use inverted y axis"= bullshit, stop making numbers up . You are in the minority most definitely.
^ So we attack each other now for the way we like our controls set up? Really? C'mon man.
