I know you're pulling my leg, you sly devil Dragon, but just to be clear, that doesn't make it ironic at all.
If I was in charge of Origin, I'd make sure it was a client that told customers what they were buying, and offered them a fair price according to where they lived. If they weren't making me that absurd offer of selling me their game at a price of 83 dollars in my local currency for a bog standard digital copy, maybe I wouldn't be so compelled to VPN my way around their system?
While I do like to play the marketplace as much as EA, I in no way share their values or understand why they apparently don't take any pride in what they do.
If I had spent tens of millions of dollars on making a client, I'd make sure it didn't have goofy ass mistakes like that.
Just because I've accepted that I have absolutely no say in what goes on in the third world, and acknowledged that I don't have any way to solve their problems*, doesn't mean that I'd try to make things worse for them if I was in EAs position.
If I had that kind of power, and I used it in the way EA does, I'd be worried about how I'd sleep at night.
*You can give 20 bucks to a charity, but if you study where the money goes, 10 bucks will be lost to administration in the vast majority of cases, and the rest will see very little effect locally, usually benefitting a distinct minority, while armed militias or government corruption skims off the top. Even if all you're buying is rice. It's little more than 20 dollars worth of warm fuzzy feelings.
@TheWulf. Please. Cry me a river, bitch. I'm pretty sure I have more gay friends than you do, and I'm pretty sure I've joined them at more gay pride parades than you have.
That's why gay pejoratives don't throw me in a tizzy, because I know those guys don't give a shit how the word gay is used, because they're too busy being ordinary people. Just like me. You know, rather than seeing themselves reduced to just another vague, politically correct cause or alibi that is so treasured by the likes of hollow internet crusaders like yourself.
