I started gaming on a NES back in ~1994 and later in '96 me and my bros got a PS1. I still can't understand how NES game were still available for purchase, after so many years back then. In the meanwhile my father had a GoldStar computer (now know as LG) at his office and we could play some demos from various PC magazines. I also remember Pandemonium, what a game! :P
Then got a PS2 in x-mas 2000, still my favorite console of all times, first game was Tekken Tag Tournament, then all the must have followed, FF-X, MGS2, GT4, GTA and so on. I was fancying the GameCube too, but I could choose only 1 console at the time, but I would lend my PS2 to a friend so I could play with his GC, Viewtiful Joe, Zelda WW, Smash Bros Melee were some great games.
If I recall correctly we got out first PC at home in 2003-4, a Pentium 4 @3Ghz, 1Gb of Ram and a Geforce 6600, a great rig for its period. It was also the Internet era, the 56k modems and the thing that if you were online you had no phone! I was playing Age of Empires and Age of Mythology mostly, and the Sims, plus some random game from here and there.
Then the Xbox 360 and PS3 were announced, I never was interested in the Xbox in the first place and the online sub was really irritating me, and the PS3 was out my reach at 500€+, so I went with a PSP, still have it. I also have a Gameboy Color and GBA SP.
And finally I returned into PC gaming after seeing my 1st computer couldn't keep up anymore. I was playing Fallout 3 in 2009 on super-LOW, even below my native resolution of 1280x1024.
Then in 2010 I was in need of a computer for my uni, so I thought why not throw some extra cash and make it a decent gaming rig and seeing how Steam was having all those great deals I decided to do it. i7-950, 6Gb of Ram and an EVGA GTA 470, that later sold it to get a GTX 480 for 185€. Still going strong, but I think I'm in need of my first upgrade, at least in Ram and OCing.
But I was still missing all the exclusives of the consoles/PS3, like MGS4, Tekken, GoW, Infamous, RDR etc. and wanted to get a PS3. Seeing the PS+ offers and all those deals around I got my PS3 in Sept 2012 and I'm really glad I did.
Now the only problem is that I have a huge backlog on PC and PS3 and still don't know how to manage it. Not to mention that PS+ is making it even harder! :P
I'm planning to get a PS Vita too sometime in the future, also to take advantage of PS+ and when KH3/FF-XV and MGS5 are released I'll be getting a PS4, probably mid 2015 or something.
P.S. I would really like to get a 3DS and a Wii U but I don't see how I could manage my time playing all those games, I need a time machine! xD
