I might do a VG247 thing the night before the beta closes. Need to figure out how it would work, though, considering you can't open rooms like you normally do in most games.

Well I would be playing the beta at the moment but I just got Shadows of the Damned and FEAR 3 so their keeping me busy. Not to mention the fact that it kept on having connection problems even today.

Well, I can't access the beta. When I push start at the title screen I get an error message. Error initializing session manager, to be exact. Shit.

I kept getting that error the first couple days too. From the sound of things, that comes up when the server load is too high. It's been fine since then for me, though.

I played at my friends house today.
Surprisingly a very solid beta. Much better then in Uncharted 2 multiplayer overall. But still, it's not that brilliant compared to Gears Of War 3 multiplayer.
the problem is in the engine. It feels very clunky. It's the same thing like with Dead Space 2 in which multiplayer doesn't matter much compared to the singleplayer.
I liked Co-op more, then multiplayer. Next Generation Naughty Dog i think will make a game with the multiplayer in mind.

i think its way worse than uncharted2. its so much slower and the player moves like a tank. im very disappointed but it looks like im the only one.

Having never played uc2 MP I can't really compare. However, even though I enjoyed my session my player was quite tank like. So no, your not the only one.

Maybe they're just trying to make you feel like a human with weight, most people can't jump up a wall, can they?

TPS' are always going to feel a lot more sluggish than their FPS' rivals. With an FPS the camera doesn't need to show the body moving and twisting as you navigate an area, whereas for a TPS to look realistic they have to have realistic character animations, which in turn lead to a delay between you pushing left and the character actually beginning to move left.
I'm assuming this is what most people are referring to when they say the character feels 'like a tank'. Correct me if I'm wrong.
In some ways, that lack of immediate response means the game requires more skill and forethought than your average FPS twitch shooter does.
Heck I'm no expert.. but the 20 minutes I've spent on the Beta was a lot of fun, if not mildly frustrating (due to my complete lack of finesse).
I'll mainly buy this for the SP campaign, for which I'm pretty stoked.
I never played MP UC2. But I think once I've finished the campaign I'll definitely give the MP a go. The linking with Facebook, IMO, is a very nice idea.Posted 1 year ago # -
Deacon I like the MP beta, and it also has Split screen online which is pretty cool.
