Anyone else playing this at the moment?
what are your thoughts?
I'm not entirely impressed with this game.
Heavy Rain was an amazing game but this game does not have that 'game-y' feeling of Heavy Rain.
Heavy Rain, you felt like the director playing the game, deciding what to say, how and what to think and what actions (plus the camera angles). It all felt like a movie and plays like a game while you're in control.
But for Beyond Souls, it feels like you are watching a movie but playing the movie instead. It has some gameplay elements to it but not that deep and not so great or involving.
My only grip with the game is the story telling. It is annoying because the scenes kept jumping back n forte from Jodie being young to an adult. (which is the same nonsense that was used in God of War Ascension) Because of this arrays, you cannot feel a 'connection' to Jodie, you don't have any feelings for her because you cannot connect with her. All you are doing is watching her actions and her living her life while you make her do a decision and keep her alive.
The QTE actions are better as 'an improvement' but still plays bad! Meaning, it is much easier but when it comes to swiping left, up, down or right is very difficult. Because half the time you don't know which way Jodie is exactly trying to go. You cannot even change the game's brightness because often time the game is dark while in night scenes.
The swiping will definitely play better on PS4's dual shock 4 touchpad
Good game, has not mind blown me yet. Graphics are incredible!!!
7/10 Heavy Rain is better:/
