I'm playing on Ultra and everything is smooth but my power supply have some serious problems. It's old now and it's overheating.
Never had this problem before, but this game engine is freakin heavy on my 580 GTX. It should not be that way. I dunno.
So I'm really really tempted by this (after reading the reviews) as the setting and more action orienated gameplay appeals.
Thing is I never can manage to get in to rpg's, always start and get a bit bored/disinterested. Saying that though I absolutely loved Demon's Souls last year which surprised me.
Do you think I'd enjoy this or is it way too rpgey if that makes sense...?

It follows all RPG aspect as the 90's with the grinding, farming etc with some new modern things like minimap telling you were things are like quest giver and some quest objectives.
If you want the upgrades with armor or weapons you not only need orens (currency) but also have to collect items throughout the game. TO get orens you will have to do arm wrestling, fist fighting and side quests because the main quests offer little to no reward. SO you have to put in time for that. I wouldn't recommend trying to beat the game with crap gear you start with... This is by no means a Bioware or Bathesda RPG.

Holy crap erth, you have a killer PC. Just grab a decent modular PSU and you'll be fine.

I have 8GB of ram along with the same processor but I don't have the 580 why would I when there are no games for the PC worthy of a 400$ card. Witcher 2 runs perfectly and looks gorgeous with my overclocked 460 GTX sli.
^^ Same could be said about that proccessor. I still have an overclocked intel Q6600 to 3.4Ghz and it still runs like a beaut.
The only downside i have seen so far is the combat. Once you've figured out how the combat works and what you should be aware of, it's really just mashing buttons.
I bet i'm not alone on this when i say that it got it's problems, whenever i press a button it reacts a little bit too late. Like pulling out my sword, or when i attack, he stands for a few seconds before attacking. I can't count how many times i was trying to throw a dagger only to have the witcher stand for 2 seconds straight and do nothing.
Oh and the stealth-parts are horrible.

Those occasions when you arn't attacking or not blocking, isn't due to buttons reacting late, it's basically due to being out of vigor. Vigor is the yellow blocks that are used for casting spells, but it is also used (some people seem to be unaware of this) for blocking and other special attacks. But yeah the stealth part was the worst part.
@Dralen: But throwing stuff does not use up Vigor.
Loving it. One of my favourite games ever, so far. (Minus the occasional technical issue, but they'll work those out anyways).
The whole package just seems like a labour of love; just looking at everything they include with the regular retail version... It's great.
I am hating the mat system didn't know I picked up a MMO and have to craft to upgrade weapons and armors. The constant need for orens and mats is really starting to grind my gears. I am not playing Farmville for fucks sake.
