The last few days, both on my PC (firefox 4) and Mac (safari 4) I keep getting a different, thinner font to the normal one we've had for ages. Some odd site bug?
What's up with the font?

Glad i'm not the only one who noticed that and in fact it appears to be the case with IE9 too.

Don't know why, but it's something to do with Brink ads.

I think it's got something to do with the font smoothing plugin. Turn off javascript and the font returns to normal. If vg247 are experimenting, then I'd much prefer no font smoothing, at least for modern browsers, as modern browsers add antialiasing to the fonts without any plugin.
For older browsers, I'd suggest wrapping the plugin in conditional comments or use modernizr.

It's the ad code, apparently. We're getting it sorted.
