Does anyone play Civ V on Steam?
I do and would be interested in playing some co-op team games. I have been a long time Civ player, but my skills aren't anything amazing. I play on warlord mostly. Like smaller maps instead of bigger ones. And have never played a multiplayer PC game of Civ. I used to lan Civ Rev on xb360 all of the time.
So if anyone is looking to try a game of Civ V with me let me know. Again co-op, My Incas or Polynasions are ready to team up when you are.
I have civ 5 for steam but haven't played in ages. I was a bit disappointed with the game and lost interest pretty fast (either because I suck at civ or because I prefer Master of Orion). Haven't played online either because most of my friends can't stand 4x games and I don't like to play strategy games with long lasting multiplayer rounds/campaigns with randoms (like Empire: Total War or Anno 1404).
I'd love to try the multiplayer out with you but I'm afraid I can't keep up with a civ veteran. Besides that the timezone difference between us could prove to be a problem.
Well I bet we can make this work.
First up they have patched the game a lot. Fixed a lot of bugs/glitches and balanced a few things out. I wasn't thrilled w/Civ V at launch either. Not when Civ IV was so good.
But as for my skills? I don't have any lol. Warlords is the thrid level of dificulty. I think it is labeled Easy, Prince(next one up is Normal - I think). And I lose on Warlords from time to time.
As for time zones, I am eastern USA. But have almost all day long to play.
I have zero experience playing MP Civ V. And like you I am not too big into random players droping in and out of something like Civ.
Ya know what I need is to look into setting up Steam chat. I haven't done that. That or Skype. I use vent when playing Rift, but ... I am gonna go look into chat, would be nice to be able to cordinate strategies and such.

I'd get Civ 5 on Steam when it's on sale. I'm a strategy fan but I don't like TBS' much

There's a 5h time difference between us, I'd say that's managable - at least on weekends.
As for the Chat. Steam Chat is pretty easy to set up, however my mic is unfortunately broken ( my fucking cat chew through the cable..) I've already ordered a new one but I don't know when the package will be delivered.
Edit: I've just fired up civ 5 right now. Seems like I've been playing on warlord as well... lol Guess that shows how much I know the game.
