Forget the trolling & blame wars. Forget what coulda, shoulda, woulda been done (been plenty of that shit). My question is simple, how badly has no online gaming or psn store affected ACTUAL Ps3 owners?
Ps3 outage - are YOU bothered?

The actual outage? Nah, I'm not too bothered.
I'm a little annoyed that it's essentially killed any remaining interest I had in GT5, but I'm sure I'll survive.

I am not bothered at all, I mainly got the PS3 for local co-op.

My son is bothered more then me. I play PS3 once in awhile. I miss browsing the PSN store. But nothing I can't live w/o for a bit.

The outage? No.
The amount of FUD reported over the outage? Very much so.

Slightly annoyed I would love to play Portal CO Op with my friends but not so much to go jump a guys throat for commenting on it. I would love to pick up some PSOne classics like Silent Hill and Parasite Eve but I can deal for now.

Well I'm certainly not bothered since I don't have a PS3 but I do enjoy going to a local friend and playing his games but none of them need PSN (like resistance co-op, and Heavy Rain)

I was actually enjoying KZ3 online when it went down so a little disappointed.

I don't have a PS3 at university, so I'm not too fussed. I was bothered the other week, when back at home, that I couldn't get my PC/Mac copy of Portal 2.

Not really. Though it would be nice to play some LittleBigPlanet online, I do all my multi-format gaming on the 360.
I've been way too busy enjoying my handhelds at the moment though to care one way or the other.

Not bothered by the outage as I very rarely played my PS3.
Bothered enough about having my personal details spewed over the internet to sell the PS3 though, meaning even less bother next time PSN melts down.

I'm not to bothered, a little irritated but its my fault not psns. I left my ps3 on one night and the storm knocked the power off. When I woke up I turn my ps3 on and had to re-input the time. Well little did I know is that if you manually enter the time and date and your a psn+ member. They have it set up that all your digital content can't be played to the linked account because they don't want people extending their psn+ or cutting it short. So I had to update via the internet. This is where I got surprised that the time is updated through sony. And sony's network is down.
So all my psn+ games and other digital games linked to my account don't work. And, I bought my mass effect 2 digitally.... bet you I won't be doing that again. But, other then that nope. I'm not bothered still have a large selection of games to keep me busy

Well it does bother me, because i was playing a lot of Battlefield bad company 2 and assasins creed brotherhood when the shutdown took place, and i was planing to play Mortal Kombat as well, and it did affect me becuase i love those before mentioned multiplayer games, for me those are the best multiplayer games on the market, halo reach in a close third, and right now iam playing on the 360 reach and homefront, by the way i kinda like homefront multiplayer

I'm pretty pissed off that I still can't play MK online yet.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I'm used to it now, but I was pretty pissed off. I bought Socom 4 and Portal 2 ( one purely for coop/vs purposes and the other for the exciting prospect of a/ a free steam copy b/ full steam integration with proper cross plat shenanigans.) on the day it all went tits up. I've been stuck in the house convalescing after an op, so the prime candidates for keeping me occupied have been turned to shit.
Luckily I have a 360, so I switched to that last week for some online banter. Oddly, despite the fact that I play on live every week, when the PSN went down, I found I didn't want to play live either. I must be some kind of contrary twunt. Or it was the pain meds \o/

Not really. Most of the games I play on my PS3 are single-player games (inFamous, Demon Souls and Mass Effect 2 currently), Killzone 3 being the exception in my case. If it had happened to Xbox Live I probably would have been more frustrated.

Someone bought Mass Effect 2 digitally???
@ Lex - feeling flush that week were we? ; )
I miss the store more than anything. I'm mainly SP these days but it's always nice seeing what your mates are playing etc. Just generally feeling connected to others even if you're not playing directly with them.
Looking forward to having it all back, but I haven't cried myself to sleep just yet.

it has gone?
nah seriously. not bothered much.
most of the time im playing singleplayer or local coop/vs
only game ive played massively over the last months has been bad company 2 but that was before the outage.
most of the time when im playing sp or local mp im not even logged into psn.Posted 2 years ago # -
@Deacon lol I find myself making a lot of bad choices gaming wise. From digital mass effect 2-crysis 2. I am suffering from my own ignorance, fortunately though 1 of those has a cure. And, that's either. Full or. Partial psn restoration.
Woe is me WOE!

@ hunam
ditto itching 4 a bit of MK online, tell u what how about a game when all this PSN crap is sorted out....Posted 2 years ago # -
Yup as some have said before I still haven't played MK online yet which is annoying. And I do like my B:BC2 and AssCreed Brotherhood multiplayer which I am now missing.
Looking forward to getting 2 free games though. Just hoping that from the 5 that will be on offer I will have a decent enough choice as I own 16 PSN games and most of them are the fairly popular ones....

I'm mildly annoyed. More about the overblown media induced hysteria surrounding the incident than the actual outage.
It feels a lot like the swine flu panic in 2009: Nothing really happened but the media was declaring it the new black death.
Likewise the Sony servers may have been breached but in two weeks now there wasn't a single convincing case of Credit Card fraud although the media is throwing headlines like "22 million credit cards stolen" around which in turn are used by fanboys to start and justify flamewars.
I was playing mainly Minecraft and Dragon Age 2 on my PC when PSN got shut down so I wasn't that much affected by it.Posted 2 years ago # -
I'm annoyed because I've gotten into Assassins Creed Brotherhood MP but on the upside, it's given me the chance to catch up on some Fallout: New Vegas, not to mention that I'm getting 2 free games & PS+ when PSN returns. Hopefully we even get some long overdue features like cross game chat & what-not.

Not as much bothered as i'm annoyed that i'm forced to play Modern Warfare 2 on the 360 when I really want to play some Battlefield on PSN. Other than that I haven't really had any issues with PSN downtime its just annoying with some games is all.

Slightly bothered.
I'd like to play MK and Portal 2 online. Plus my bro-in-law who lives 2 hrs away recently got a PS3 and we were stoked on playing online together, so that sucks. I always enjoy checking new demos and videos too, so missing that. I've been wanting to check out that new Final Fantasy on PSP but I can't cause I have PSPgo.
So, yeah I'm eager for it to come back up..

It has upset my routine! I had just put $200 in PSN Gift Cards on my account 2 days before, so now I am left wondering.."Is it still there?"
Also, I had a Weekly routine, where Tuesday was my PS3 day, and I looked forward to it.
I was quite the consumer on PSN. I bought Themes, Avatar Pics, Mini's, PSP Games, and the regular PSN games. I used VUDU, watched MLB Baseball games, and Netflixed, and Still played RE 2 on Multiplayer, I was Playing Home quite a Bit, Sodium One, Magic The Gathering, Looking at that Space MMO, buying Home Spaces, buying Home Avatar Clothing and add-ons and such. I was having events in my Home Spaces, taking Pics of my friends and such for those moments, buying Home Space items, like furniture and aquariums and such.
So Yeah it has bothered me. I just don't want to deal with it, So I have put my PS3 in the Master Bedroom on a Desk next to the Wii. Both are covered in Dust.
I like my routines, so this bothers me quite a bit.

We could always play a couple rounds of Pinball FX tourny style Frosty?
Posted 2 years ago # -
@ OG...what??? Like I am asking to get my butt kicked and send me away crying like a little girl by you..no thank you..LOL

Well gotta say among my 3 platforms I only spend time on my PC, I love it and I love steam and mostly play a game there or my favorite MMO title WoW (which I didn't subscribe for a chance to see how are things in RIFT). My PS3 was gathering dust and honestly there are not much titles on PS3 or XBOX360 that I'm truly interested in to motivate me to turn them on. It must be years since I turned on my XBOX360, I occasionally played MGS4, SFIV, Uncharted 2, Batman and SOCOM there, so I'm not that bothered cuz I don't play there much. Besides, I have BFBC2, BF2 and L4D on my FPS list I even didn't play MW2 more than 50 hrs since it released. I'm much more happier on PC and now with Morroblivion I'm reliving Morrowind again, it's a bugy mess, but it's much better than FO:NV on the Bug department.
So, no I'm not bothered with the outage, but I'm not happy how things turned out for millions of users in the end. Anonymous' claims are ridiculous and baseless, they are liars and they have their own agenda for doing this and I hope they get caught and serve long time in jail so they can understand the meaning behind the freedom and choice. This is where I'm bothered, people violating other people's rights and privileges. I call this cyber-terrorism.
