Yes me and G1ga have traded places. I'm Dan Ackroyd now and he's Eddie Murphy.
I have a lot to say about the 360 and I'll post my full review after I come back from vacation. I will say this though, its a good system with great features I like and respect a lot. Switching between Forza3,Fable2,1 vs 100,and Gears should keep me happy with M$ and may even lead me into purchasing a full year subscription of xbox live.
@ Dr.Damn: these are the following issues I have with FW 3.0
1. No xmb browsing while listening to music with the 44.1khz/88.2khz option set on. Now while this may not be that big, I hate when they downgrade firmware functionality. 48 kHz sounds good but 44.1khz/88.2khz sounds great!
Sample a MP3, (I recommend 3 doors down- when i'm gone) in the two different options and tell me if you can hear the difference. 44.1khz/88.2khz sound quality makes you feel like the music is being performed right in front and around you. While 48 kHz feels like I'm watching a DVD vs Blu-ray.
I want the 44.1khz/88.2khz option to work with all the things I do on my PS3.
That includes listening to my music while viewing my Pictures, surfing the web, while I edit and organize my media files,or just text messaging friends.
Now I know those things can be done while listening with the 48 kHz option, but answer this. Would you rather watch a DVD or a Blu-ray?....
2. The new font sizes are just too big and ugly. I'm not 90 years old,I've never had a problem with the font size before FW 3.0 because I own 1080p (HDTV's) with my (HD) consoles. If people are having problems with reading the text size, Sony should have just made it an option to change the size of text under themes just like they do for, wait for it....."FONT STYLES".....does that make sense to you? It does for me.
3. This is what really hurts the most because I had to delete some good people off my list. The friends list is a eye sore to look at now. Every time
I see it, I want to turn my PS3 off. The PS3 media capabilities are fucking awesome, but what makes me really love my PS3 are my PSN friends. Those guys are what keep me gaming and loving every second of it. I could just sit at my TV and just video chat and text chat with these guys all day long. My friends list has become apart of every game I play. To hit the PS button and scroll over to see who's playing what or who's messaging me as I scroll down the list is a painful process now. It feels like my eyes are going to bleed because of how unorganized and cluttered it has stupidly become.
Sony has made these changes without caring what the playstation community wanted and have actually downgraded the overall quality of PSN. Its really a slap in the face as if they are telling us - here, shut up and stop bitching about cross game chat, take what we give you. If they don't respond to the community in a positive way they might as well run promotional ads for xbox live, because if they don't fix it that's where I'll be heading and I'm bringing my friends with me even if I have to buy all of them xbox 360's my damn self.
There's a couple of other annoying things with FW 3.0 (the "whats new" bull crap and multiple PS store icons) but I can over look that. This is what I don't understand. The media server icon is optional. It appears on the XMB if you have media server option enabled, but doesn't appear when you have the feature disabled. That was smart on Sony's part. It leaves the XMB clean and clutter free. Just the way millions of PlayStation loyalist have loved since before Sept 1st 2009.
