Good morning mates, surfing the web i came across this information regarding Sega next gen console that is soon to be announce, i dont know if you guys have hear anything about this but the link is here, what do you guys think?, i do mind seeing SEGA back in the business.

Don't know. My gut tells me no way. But if Sega made hardware, I would preorder it. I love Sega. From the hardware, the controlers, the forward thinking, from Sonic to the shinning games.
If this where to pan out, I would buy about everything they put out. Sad but true. That being said, I doubt it is happening.

I hope is true i loved the dreamcast it has a nice selection of games, and i do mind seeing shemue 3 or skies of arcadia 2, i loved those games and a bunch more, i do really hope it turns true, but like you iam a bit skepctical too. fingers cross OlderGamer

Agreed with all of the above.
And to be fair, in a crazy, alternate universe; if a new Sega console ever came out, I couldn't imagine it being much different to the 360 to be honest.

This would actually be pretty awesome :) The gaming industry needs a new light as Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are getting tired and boring with saying the same things over and over again (Trash talk etc). Maybe if Sega did come back it would add a new competitor and shake things up a little :D

Not happening as Michael said they can barely sell their software and they want to jump right back into the big kid pool again? Yeah not happening. Even if Sega would come in the picture they would get trampled by Microsoft, SOny, Nintendo because they have been out of the game too long.

I can't see them being able to come up with a budget to compete with the big three. Maybe they can compete with onlive in the streaming market.

SEGA has been doing well for itself since the switch to software and is going strong, despite the common view among gamers that they're really struggling.
Even so, I don't see a way back into the consoles for them any time soon (as much as i'd love to see a new SEGA console). They just won't be able to compete with Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.

The machinations of designing and manufacturing a major console are so big that there's no way Sega could keep it a secret if they actually were working on something like that. There's no way you'd ever have to hear it from a blog.

That was what the link was saying, actually.
I grew up on Sega, and I really liked where they were at when they called it quits, but ultimately they were too close to Sony in their entire philosophy to make a difference at that point.
They'd have to rethink themselves. The world doesn't need another nippophile gaming system in my opinion.
Still, that's all totally unfounded speculation. Wake me up when it happens :P

Ever noticed all these claims are just things we would love to see?
Doesn't make them reality. Plus time and time again sega has said they have moved out of the hardware section and into software, unless there was some clear indications rather than some blog post then i'm not beleiving a thing.

The only hardware sega has put out in the recent years has been arcade machine efforts based on ordinary PC components. Even Sega Amusements of Europe developed a PC based arcade machine for sega rally 3 and recently GRID.
These are pretty nice machines with 8800gt and HD 5670 as GPUs, so they easily beat out every console currently on the market. And I guess that's "next gen".
I think due to a loss of information people interpreted these as new consoles, since you sometimes refer to the arcade unit as a console.
