Any help in finding its fair value would be apreciated.
It is a fully BC fatty with a 60G HDD. Used here and there, never for long periods. Never left on too long and never abused. Everything is fully functional and in great working order. I would come with 1 PS3 six axis, cords, and BOX. All in very good, albeit used shape.
Any ideas on value?
Depends on where you sell it. Ebay fetches a good price sometimes but it all depends on your reliability on ebay. You know, have you sold items before, are your reviews good, etc.
On craigslist, you are looking at $200.
Most people buying PS3s now dont care much for the odler models for the reason that they are "old". However, if you find a buyer that is collecting it for its BC, you can get up to $350.
List it on craigslist for $350 or best offer (O.B.O.) and work from there.
Shame on you for selling it though lol. Hopefully your xbox-slim doesnt give you problems, mine does and its bascally brand new...
Ive gotten the red center light already while playing Halo Reach (it shuts down and stays off till it cools down. Which is dumb, its on a shelf with nothing around it with lots of air circulation.)
But yeah. I really do hope M$ doesnt fail you for the 5th time.
Just to add...Even TEA hasnt sold his xbox. And it was Tea that bought me a new Xbox-Slim....

Are you in the UK or US? Bear in mind a 160GB Slim is £230.
I have no idea about these things, but seeing as it a BC console you probably get a bit more than you usually would. i'd say more than £100 is definitely fair. Game is selling used 60GB, including one game, for £150. So you can probably sell it for something in that range.
OG is American (east coast i would assume.)
For what you would get for it I wouldn't bother if I was you.
I like having both of them as it doesn't limit my choice.

I'd say £80 - £120 is fair, considering the fact i think slims are a hell of a lot better. I think thats like 150USD or whatever, not entirely sure.

Yikes, I was hoping the BC aspect would raise its value. I am not looking to get out of PS3, just looking to make a horizonal move from an Phatty to a slim. I have a handfull of Blu-Rays(wife has her Hairy Potter collection on BRD)). I also have a couple of games I enjoy too.
I just don't use the BC, ever.

Gonna keep it, if nothing else its a movie/BRD players, a Netflix viewer, and ocasional gaming system. Not worth being w/o one.

And yep Spider knows me, east cost NA, so the system is NA. I have a JP PS2, Dreamcast, Saturn, and Turbo Duo. But everything else is NA, oh wait and a EU xb360.
@Crab of Thunder, Unfortunately while $1 equals about 0.60£, it very rarely swings that way, UK users (& the rest of Europe, Australia, New Zealand & the barely developed countries) end up paying 33%+ more than the US of A.
If you plan to play games for the next several years, you're best of switching entirely to the PS3 for multiplayer, XBL Gold may not cost that much for a single year, but say you own it from 2006 til the next Xbox (2013?) that's 7 years @ $60(RRP?) that's $420 there, but I've read a few of your comments & you like XBL because of the Indie games which is fair enough, I just think MS is deceiving it's customers with it's subscription charges(by claiming that it's worth it, LOL!)& the tricky point system... Oh crap, I'm coming of like Theevilaires here, aren't I?
If I had it all to do over again, this gen I mean. I would strongly consider going all PS3. The catch for me would be if I could/would want to give up XBLA. Some very good games there, and with each one having a demo no way I get burned buying a bad one I don't enjoy.
But I am already up to my eye balls in xb360 investments, so switching ships doesn't make sense so far as selling all xb360 stuff and then rebuying what I can on PS3.
But I have thought heavily about converting my BC PS3 into a slim. But as you all say the value isn't there to do that. It would take a guy like Tea wanting to grab a backup BC Phatty for a back up or for collecting.
But not like I am losing anything by hanging onto it. I just don't use the BC feature at all.

I actually still use the PS2 BC capabilities of mine on his regular basis. There have been a tonne of PS2 games released even during the PS3 and 360 era that I've picked up. It probably gets more use then the PS3 games do... -_-

I traded my BC fatty for a slim 6 months ago. I did it because my mate's launch day fatties were starting to die off and I wanted something quieter and more reliable that used less power.
I don't miss the BC because I never used it and I've still got a ps2 anyway.
I checked out all the secondhand prices people were offering and found the best was Gamestation offering 165 quid trade-in and they had the best bundle deals. I then sold the two games it came with for 30 quid each on ebay and got a brand new 320 GB for about a tenner of new cash.
I realise the UK angle doesn't help you, but I was just illustrating that it basically costs bugger all to swap if you're canny about it.
The only gotcha is a handfull of games don't let you transfer game saves. There's a list here :

I think one of the best thing about the slims is that they don't have the monstrous power usage that the fattie has. And yeah my AC2 data wouldn't transfer when i swapped, so it can be a problem.
