Just played. With Dr. G its was fun but it looked like utter shit. The water effects we're terrible and everything was so grainy. Kz3 beta looked like 10x better then this. I have fun on both none the less, but I would have to say that kz3 would be the better buy at 60 so far. I am probably gonna start a gamefly account to rent these other games because I can't risk spending 60 on that. I would feel like a f'n fool. Besides I got 1st both times I played and mvp. That is way to one man army for me.

tried to play it yesterday, couldnt get in.
what i dont get is the 2 in crysis 2. it should be more like crysis 0.5.
Everything in the game is toned down.

I've had no problems connecting with anybody, the game is just as good as the 360 version, maybe even better, but overall the MP feels like another CoD game with a few abilities, if Halo were on PS3, I'd be playing Reach right now instead, but I'm not paying for Live so playing MP on 360 is out of the question, just not worth it IMO.

I guess more bitching was the answer. I finally got a game. I must say, I can see some potential in the engine, but it was a very ugly game indeed. Had a weird mixed feeling both visually and gameplay wise between black ops and kz3. Anythin further then ten feet out was difficult to look at. I could see my eyes getting VERY weary pretty quick. It almost felt like it was a new console with a shitty first launch game. You could tell somethig was better, but that it was just not put together right. Makes me questions other games coming from this engine. played 1 game and that was enough. Was kinda easy. Maybe ill try again tomorrow.

Nvm haha. Right after I posted that. Vg247 posted a blog about EA pulling the demo haha. Guess my early perdictions where right. The demo would not work properly before release because connection issues. Didn't think they'd pull it though. To bad they aren't fixing any visuals.

Yeah i finally somehow got in with Lex last night. Like he said above, it was fun, but after playing all 3 versions, and trust me I love my PS3, this version is B A D. Framerate, textures, resolution, the cloak effect is COMPLETELY different (worse), i mean everything is just shit compared to the other 2 versions, especially PC ofcourse.
After playing this demo I've realized two things.
1. I'll be buying the PC version.
2. Crytek needs to shut the fuck up and learn a lesson or two from id (who aren't bragging about how rage will be the be all end all best graphics and FPS ever)The differences are SO clear, the fact that crytek producer Nathan Camarillo stated the following publicly is a disgrace to both his and the companies reputation. “I’ve gone on the record saying that if you stick PS3 and 360 side by side I would challenge anyone to find any meaningful difference. I don’t see it at all.”

I totally agree with you Dr.G it was good fun and I'm sure SP will be too but the 360 demo was running smoother and of course PC will be the best version. I played for about 1 hour last night on both maps and upgraded pretty far into the leveling system. Fun game but worst of the 3 technical wise. I'm still getting it for trophies though :D and PC version later also.
Also is Lex any good at FPS Dr.G? something tells me he's a total noob aka the PS3 version of Reask ;)

Yes you are right. If giving to the right team in a PlayStation 1st party camp such as Naughty Dog or Santa Monica miracles could be performed with this engine. I just kept thinking about the possibilities while playing the demo saying if only they had did this or added that....oh well maybe in the full game I'll see it.

^The PC version is well above average, nowhere near the mediocre PS3 multiplayer demo, plus I loved Crysis 1, that's why I'm buying PC version.

I hate the Auto Aim on PS3's version, and yes the cloaking is different on PS3 to PC, on PC you can barly see the other people but on PS3 you can pretty much see a full siloett of that person which is bs, how can they be totally different?

I have an Xbox which i bought my younger brother for christmas, i usedto have an Xbox like 4 years ago when there were no games for PS3 and liked it, but then i found out again why PS is good when i bought the slim couple of years ago.
you cant argue that the graphics are far suprior on the PS3 its just that most games are made for the Xbox and ported to PS3 usualy making sure that the PS3 game is not quite on par or is the same as the Xbox 360 version so as not to piss of micro$oft [bribes alot of the time involved] money talks, big example is COD, was badly ported to PS3 its doesent run aswel but even though it was ported after playing on the PS3 you go to xbox and it looks more soft with less colours and less visually sharp, this is because the Xbox is not true HD it upscales to HD, the ps3 is FULL HD and it shows, the only reason the PS3 version of COD doesnt run as smooth is because it was ported and not coded properly for the PS3 and on purpose too, Micro$oft [Xbox 360] wanted to try and make people think that the PS3 is hard to code for and that it is not as good as the xbox so because they have so much $$$$ they just paid Activision to do what theyre told, like they do for other games. because they no their console is showing its age and because theyve got such a big fan base they dont want people to realize this. remember COD is only an example i liked it for abit but its POO game.
And also remember the only reason Xbox has so many fans and users is because it came out when all we had was the PS2, and i along with milions obviosly went to the xbox, and then when the PS3 came out i along with millions were like yeh thats shit this is what its all about, its only when you actually buy or get a PS3 and play it for abit that you REALLY appreciate how good and suprior it is to the Xbox, also the controls you may think you love the Xbox ones but when you get used to the PS3 controller theyre so much better, analog sticks more smooth and sensative with a slightly wider range more presice, just cradle in your hand, no need to mention the dual shock is superb and a must have for most types of games, once your usedto the rumble it feels depressing playing wihtout it or with little of it.
PS3 exclusives such as UNCHANTED, GRAN TURISMO, GOD OF WAR, MEATA GEAR SOLID and KILLZONE!! really show off how amazingly graphical + smooth the PS3 really is. now play CRYSIS 2 demo on Xbox [again it is ported badly to ps3 so pay the xbox 1] then directly after play KILLZONE 3 on PS3 and you WILL BE AMAZED at how amazing the graphics are and how smooth the game is, even with 24 players online, it does shock you to how good the PS3 really is when its used proply like it should be but none of these multi platform game companies want to showcase that and piss off micro$oft because afterall theyve got the money and as we all no and is proven with games like COD and CRYSIS 2 money talks, its a bummer for people who own the PS3 because it means that most games we basicly haveto play the Xbox 360 version of which is stupid, but hopefully this will start to stop when BATTLEFIELD 3 comes out because they’re making a different version for each platform, they have stated that the ps3 version will be better than the Xbox 360′s.
Just to add dont go on about Xbox Live no more PSN perfectly fine for online play now only thing Xbox live has that PSN has’nt is party chat and apparently something about demo’s but every demo i want to play on the PS3 i can. the PS3 is also better value than the Xbox, how did i work that out you say? you pay £150-£200 for xbox but then youve got to pay for the wirless receiver another £50-£80 and Xbox live an extra £40 per year, so that about £250 for the latest console with built in wirless, and the same really for the lower budget model if you need the wirless receiver which mose people do, ino i do, and you will have like a 4gb or no hard drive. then you have compared to the ps3 a good chance that it may brake and not have a very long life.
the ps3 on the other hand is £250-£300 all in depending on which one you wan’t might aswell go for the 160 gb you dont really need 320, and you get a full HD gaming system, plus added bonuses of being able to surf the internet watch bluray movies and enjoy true stunning HD games, plus the PS3 has proven extremely reliable and should last around 8 years with a very low percentage that it will break, just incase it does i have the warrenty for 5 years which cost only £50 just incase. Ive had 3 Xbox’s 2 were years ago and one new one my brother owns which i can always hear through my ceiling lol, PS3 is a silent assasin.
there we have it its all there and none of it is a lie i could go on but i dont cant be ass’ed lol. you may call me ‘FANBOY’ but the fact is i no exactly what the Xbox is ive had 3 of them like nearly everyone who owns a PS3 usedto play the xbox, and i do love the PS3 because it is……. the best out of the consoles you can get and its a fact, these game developers just need to stop taking $$$$ and stop being so scared by micro$oft and just go ahead and make the game the best it can be for that console. say no more no lies all truth.

with the tv's that most of us have these days being 720p and 1080p can produce a stunning display which is the reason weve got them right?
look i came from the Xbox i know and its good i loved it. but if you play a game on the xbox like lets say cod and then directly after put the PS3 on then even though its a slightly worse ported version of the game its more visually sharp, colours are more vibrant and its just not as soft and more detailed. cods just an easy comparasson because lots of people play it and the PS3 versions worse which shows how much better the PS3 is when compared, and ive compared a few games and the exclusives [which i must say are in a different league] im not saying the Xbox is no good, the PS3 is just alot better.
the Xbox isn't acually full 720p its close and then upscaled to that, it uses normal DVD disks like how my dvd player upscales my DVD'S closer to HD. now whats the point in having these amazing tv's and not putting them to use.

and its not just visually the PS3 performs better when its used propely, in game on the Xbox its like your inside a big sphere [ball] if you no what i mean and the graphics are like 2d [sort of 2d/3dif you no what i mean]] painted inside the sphere, you will notice this more if you play split screen you can see it clearly and gears of war plays on it quite alot [obviously being the exclusive], it makes it feel smooth when you look around, and people like it but thats Xbox's way of compensating its lack of power, it makes it real easy to make the games nice and smooth.
The PS3 on the other hand is actually closer [obviously nowere near todays PC's] to a PC's graphics where theyre more real life with the way you move around and can see ect, its hard to explain but like, thing's are that far away and when you look around its smooth but things aren't sort of curved in like your inside a big ball instead you are the screen looking out to your surroundings, and PS3 exclusive's play on that as you can see.
as for killzone 2 a never really acually knew about it and didnt care too much of it, played it a few time's round a friends looked great but didnt really like it, gears of war 2 was alright i loved the first one but i thought it was just more of the same game, thats near when i moved to PS3. ressistance i didn't like atall i thought it was just crap not my cup of tea. now killzone 3 on the other hand is an amazing game for consoles and is my game for the moment, theyve sorted the controls out but i only use move which is a new way of playing an FPS and once usedto to you do much better than the regular controller and don't want to go back to it lol.
what the truth of the matter realy is that the PS3 is actually starting to show its strenghts and starting to set itself appart from the Xbox now with games like killzone 3 unchanted grantursimo ect. and the developers really getting to grip's with how to use the PS3's power, and will keep setting itself appart even more from now through the next 4 years or whenever the next gen comes round.
hopefully the tsunami in japan hasn't made too much of an inpact or delay in the PS4 development but hopefully that will also be superior as after all sony is a hardware company that makes computers and the TV's we play consoles on, while micro$oft are a software company that jus has a hell of alot of $$$$$. sony also has the experience, the PS2 was revolutionary.

I still feel you miss the point somewhat in regards to the console war.
I have both and can see what Sony put in compared to MS and would fully agree with your argument concerning either or.Problem been here is joe soap buys x or z and doesn't give a toss either way.
/My point been that most folks have bought into the hype which is what it is and PS has failed dramatically to challenge that consensus.IE I buy console a with preconceptions and then love it.
I then purchase console B hoping to be blown away by it and am disappointed.You see halo graphics are more than just enough if the gameplay makes up for it.
Pretty games need to be good also.
But I enjoyed your defence of PS3 which is a much better built machine than 360.

the amount of ps3 games running natively in 1080p (if any at all) you can count with the fingers, and skyboxes are being used in *all* games one way or another, Halo Reach has ones of the best looking actually.

thank you too :] yes you are right exactly and is what im trying to say this is microsofts buisness plan, to help make sure that all or most multi-plat games dont perform as best they can on the PS3 as to on the Xbox so that when you buy the PS3 and play most the games your like well this isn't that much better or isnt better, and this plan works very well and with all their $$$$ they control the gaming market easy and you stay in love with your console your usedto and dont make the switch because of this.
i too am dissapoined but not at the console, but at the developers that make the games for the Xbox 360 and not the PS3, PS3 basicly get the 360 verson of most games just coded to it and not origionaly made for it micro$oft are in control but if they weren't it would be a different story.
the gameplay on the PS3 excellent and more real life like i said specialy when the games made for it.
and @ daman i dont think you understand fully what im talking about with the skybox. and most games are 720p which is what i play them at most of the time but thats what im saying the Xbox isn't even full 720p, its upscaled, and the ps3's 720p is more sharp detailed with more vibrant colours. 1080p even more so.

please, elaborate. I don't think you know what you actually want to say..
all games use skyboxes.
X360 does run natively in 720p, it's that some games are being upscaled. there're even some that run in 1080p on it, some tennis game ie. I think GT5 is the only game running in native 1080p on PS3, there're probably a few here and there but that's about it.
