Ok people, crysis 2 is up on psn. When I get home I will download it and give it a run. From that ill decide which one is better for my liking killzone 3 or crysis 2. Then I will buy the victor, now outside of my personal objective. I want to know comparisons from the people who have played the 360 demo already and then played the ps3s. Please nobody who speculates because they played one but not the other. Just people who played both. I will not give my 2 cents on it because I will only know the ps3 version. So, if you guys can please let me know if it feels identical or if one feels better then the other gameplay wise. I don't care about your controller preference just the game.

Good post. I'll come back after I've played the PS3 version tonight. Then I'll have played all 3. Let's hope for some honest, objective opinions. Not the usual grammar school crap fest.

It's rough as fuck from a technical perspective. Oodles of texture pop-in, geometry pop-in is there, dodgy frame rate and blurry sub HD resolution. The lighting is rather spiffy, as are the water effects, but then simple things like shooting out windows are awful, as they simply vanish behind a puff of smoke.
The gameplay itself is so-so. The swiftness of your movements are nice, but neither map was particularly impressive, and even with a full game I found myself spending way too long searching for a fight.
Obviously the single player campaign could be great, but going off the demo, I'd certainly be giving the excellent Bulletstorm or Killzone 3 your money before this.

Nice update Robo. Unfortunately, I could not get in last night at all, even after nearly 10 or more attempts. Kept getting server error message. Not a good start Crytek. I'll try again this evening.

I tried too. Couldnt get in. But it was weird, i went on to try the PC demo again and i couldnt get in either. It kept saying all the servers were full even when there were no more than 1 person in the server at the time. It said server full for every attempt i made.

Played it on Steam, didn't really like it, it's like ive somehow played it before (MW2), graphics were ok.
PS3 I can imagin being limited on the amout of memory.

I just played a couple of games on PS3 and tbh I didnt notice much difference over 360.
That been said its a while since I played 360 version.

Unless you're really looking for them, the differences between the 2 versions arent all that noticable.
Fact is it looks pretty dodgy on both platforms, not "BAD" but nowhere near what Crytek hyped it up to be.
As for the quality of the MP; It really depends on if games like CoD are your thing, because thats exactly what this is.Posted 2 years ago # -
I think its problem is it doesn't know what it wants to be.
Its a bit like cod in a space suit.I do like the cod multi but this doesn't do it on both halo and cod.

Well third day, third try to play Crysis2 on my PS3, and third fail.
I've got my NAT settings set to moderate, perhpas this is the reason, but ALL my other games work online with this setting no problem, I'm not changing my router settings to open just for Crytek.
TEA and I were trying to get in at the same time, he was having problems also. Couldn't even invite each other to the same party/lobby with the in game invites.
Sucks. Really wanted to see the PS3 version.

Lounds is correct. You are not missing much. I know you got a nice PC rig, stick with that version. Xbox360s demo was better than PS3s demo and not by much. But yeah, i wouldnt even consider the PS3 version if the demo is what we will be getting in the final product.

i usually think if the game is good its all the same. but this is not the case with crysis 2. the framerate is rly bad on the ps3 version. will def buy xbox version of this game

After playing the 360 version i must admit i'm not that impressed, it just a bit rough round the edges, but maybe they'll sort that for the full game. Brink has caught my eye at the moment.

yea. i thought xbox version had alot of pop ups and stuff. its nothing amazing. gears and kz2/3 look way better. seems like cryengine is based on streaming and both ps3 and xbox cant do it fast enough for the game to look good. on xbox its ok at least
