That's 2,50 euro... For Rome: Total War: Gold. That's 1,25 euro per subtitle.
Bought it even though I still have the old DVDs in my bookcase - Best Total War game there ever was. Chop chop!

They're also doing a Total War compilation Pack, Rome Gold, Empire, Napoleon, Medieval II AND Shogun 2 for £39.99
Pretty good value if you're a Total War noob, which I am, but I'm going to refrain thanks to massive backlog which includes more than a few hour sucking RPG games, so hour sucking strategy games are not appreciated right now :p
And hours they will suck...
Really, the Total War series is probably a study in how to refrain from evolving your concept in any way, shape or form.
I think the whole charm of the series is in recreating grand historical battles, instead of generating millions of smaller laborious ones every other turn.
Great value! I loved Rome. Not as much as the original Medieval though. That will always be the best in my opinion. Five games later, and i'm still not liking the animated campaign map as much as the older, simpler design.
Would love to see them do either Rome 2 or Medieval 3 next. But only if they can come up with something fresh for the campaign mode.
ROME FTW!
@UuBuU I couldn't agree more. The campaign mode is horrible.
I think they should take a page from Massive Entertainment by focusing on the tactics and defining the scenarios a lot tighter according to history (ie not letting Spain attack a struggling colonial United States as it always happened in Empire: Total War) doing away with all the halfbaked, laborious micro-management, and instead telling the player "Right, here are all the various units you can recruit, here are the number of points you have to buy them with - Pick what you want and go to war".
That way you stay true to history, without a laborious process of patching together armies, managing cities and doing research which has absolutely nothing to do with reality, and instead put the focus where it should be - On historic tactical engagements.
Really, I have little faith in Creative Assemblys judgement at this point. Naval battles are complete shit, and for whatever reason they've been kept in the game as a token annoyance for three whole iterations. I don't know anyone who doesn't auto-resolve the fucking things. Trial and error I can accept, but sticking with a bad thing is inexcusable.
The original Medieval kept me up nights trying to conquer the world. I think Rome was a worthy entry into 3D, but they've really been on shaky ground ever since.
