I just did the update and contrary to the discussions belief it was less then 5minutes probably only 2 minutes. Don't do peer-to-peer. Do http download

^Yeah. It's the best multiplayer for me. Sad the game is full of cheaters and bad community.
I have both versions (ntsc and pal) I stopped playing in ntsc because I lag in there (I'm from KSA)

The only time the HTTP option suffered in the past was when EVERYONE downloaded it at the same time! but yeah, Peer to Peer is one of the worst decisions they have made when they designed this!
I believe it would have a much better community if they had taken the PSN route instead of going the Konami ID direction... But that's another story entirely.

I would advise you try it, it really is a unique experience. Shame that the community is so vicious. There are easily enough people still playing it.

They are very skilled actually, lol but you would expect that in a game where all the people who stuck with it day one. Would of course be leagues better then others

I believe they made that choice because maybe they didn't deem PSN good enough at the time.
I myself haven't tried it yet because I'm still playing the single player story for the first time: should I try it after the first playtrough?

You should definitely try it, I would recommend Metal gear online to anybody.
Trust me on this, bring your A game! the skill levels of the average players online are quite high.
