   The moment has finally arrived. We're about to go public with our biggest tech upgrade yet.

   VG247 v2.0 will go live at 8.00am (ish) GMT next Tuesday, February 1.

   You will get:

   - "My News" - a system for storing favourite articles
   - Completely revamped design
   - New navigation
   - New galleries
   - Related VG247 stories
   - Related stories on other sites
   - Properly embedded audio and video in article pages
   - Global log-in (site and forum are now one and the same)
   - Facebook "Like" buttons on all articles
   - New categories: indie, mobile and more
   - A new logo (!)
   - Restructured serving (which means much better performance)
   - A bunch of other stuff I can't remember

   You won't get:

   - An ignore button. Hilariously, this would have crippled the database and is the only thing we couldn't have. The tech bods are insistent that we can't do it. You'll just have to put up with each other a while longer.

   This is a full relaunch and will give us a platform for further growth. If you have any questions I'll answer everything I can, but otherwise you'll see the new site on Tuesday morning.

   Well this should help a lot.

   I have had a hard time following topics after you guys removed the "hot" list on the left of the screen. It hasn't felt the same. So some of these new features should help out.

   I think you should pick up an editorial type staffer, maybe two from exating polor ends and have each do a weekly wrap to post on saturday am. Focus on the weeks past events. Would or could spark convos in forums in ways that only frosty and a couple of others seem to be able to do now.

   Anyways looking forward to the new site. Good luck and have a smooth roll out.

   I don't know if Frosty would be interested in doing it, but he is a good choice imo. Thats why I voted for him for Poster of the Year - for his posting/moding in the forums.

   Btw, did I miss crowning our PoY king for last year?

    Suddenly, I am very "Happy" and very "Scared" at the Same time. Been on the end of some nasty crashes in my day. Maybe I will stay away on Tuesday and see if the Yahoo News Ticker talks about the new 2.0 VG247 Bunker in Stockholm opening up a rip in the time and space continuum, and letting Zombie sheep into our Astral plane of existence. This is very scary time indeed!!!
