About a week ago, just after the screening for Ghibli's latest at Venice, The Wind Rises, Koji Hoshino dropped the bombshell that the film would be Miyazaki's last and the man finally confirmed the news himself yesterday.
Sad I know, but he is 72-years old and the last two non-Miyazaki Ghibli movies have been excellent so it's not exactly the end of the world.
Oh and if you're fan of hand-drawn animations, I hope you'll take the time to watch 2011's Winnie the Pooh if you haven't already.
