Hi guys, I'm considering buying DCUO and want to know you guys' opinion on the game, particularly those who have it on PS3. Is the character creation good? Is the storyline good? Those are an example of the plethora of questions I will ask.

I am still trying to install it via steam but my slow connection is giving me problems. I have decided to give it a try since I really like super-heroes and stuff but until I have actually played the game I can't answer you questions, sorry. The only thing I know is that the story trailer is really beautiful and epic, and I am really interested to the action-packed gameplay this game is supposed to deliver.

Out of all my PS3 friends, only 1 actually bought it, and only for the statue. He just told me, that he is telling people to not buy it right now. He said that there is also a HUGE HUGE update coming. You will also need 25 Gigs on your PS3 hard-drive, 15 for install, and the other is unclear at this time, probably for updates, patches, and DLC.
Gogamer.com has the PS3 Version for $49.90 and Collectors for $76.90.
Also, at $15 a month, was the reason most of my friends didn't buy it. Console Gamers are not used to paying an ongoing monthly fee, and one that they perceive as way too much a month. Most of them told me they would have done it at $5.00 a month, but noway at $15. If you are Familar with MMO fee's then this will be no big deal to you
As far as story, quests, and grinding. In the Beta, everyone reached their level cap pretty quick, but I am sure that will be adjusted. They all raved about the visual quality. They did say the tasks kind of turn into wash, rinse, and repeat. They say Character Creation is a good mix, and most have created multiple characters.
The HUGE complaint I heard, was the Updates, they are HUGE in PS3 standards. Once you install the 15 Gig game, it then needs to download 2 more Gigs as an Update, and the Servers are SLOW, but Sony is opening more Servers as of this writing. 15 hour downloads are very common, with lock-ups and repeat trying to download. I don't know how the PC side is fairing.
I am sure once it settles down into its groove we will get a better picture. I am hearing that for a first MMO on the PS3 it is really better then they thought. My PC friends, they are just Meh...They are grinding on WarCraft. Only those Comic Hoarders who have PC's are into DC Uni on PC, but they are doing a wait and see.
If your a MMO person and still do it on the PC, most are saying do DC Uni on the PC.
The Good thing on the PS3, is no Credit Card required. You can pay for your subscription with PSN Cards that you get at retail.
So do what is right for you. For me, I am going to wait. If the Monthly price drops down then I will look again. Or if You can download the Full game for free or a severely reduced price at retail will have me looking again.
I think with MMO's and like most games, you just have to try it, and see if it strikes your fancy bone, and if it does, then go for it. Just with DC Uni on the PS3 being an MMO, you can't rent the game. They should really allow us to download it for the Free Month Trail like they did in the Beta!

A £10 subscription fee does throw me off a bit, I would be more tempted by a £5-£8 fee. I don't like how I must pay for the game to essentially try it out rather than have a demo to see whether or not I like it. The gameplay does look fun but I don't think I'm going to invest in an mmo that's only just started straight away, unless I can get a few friends to try it too.

I think i'll look into picking it up later. i dont want to buy, then play a game that'll cost me a monthly fee when LBP2, DS2, & KZ3 are right around the corner. I'll just be wasting money.
