Pretty astonishing development really. Whole thing is blown wide open... not just that, but the PSP, and the blu-ray protection system too.
^ You two never cease to amaze me.
Game review ,yes almost everything is unsecure, internet, computer and phone
Pretty much nothing.
It's already 2011 and they can't boot up Gran Turismo 5. It took 4 years to understand hypervisor.
theoratically Ps3 root keys have everything to launch any game without firmware, but i want to see whats next.
"You two never cease to amaze me."
...and you never manage to surprise me.
@Erthazus: 3.55 has been decrypted now, it's literally a matter of days before GT5 is playable. This isn't really about the hypervisor, it's more about Sony removing Linux, getting the real hackers interested and then realising that they made one of the most basic encryption related mistakes which has left the super secure PS3 now the most easily hackable console in existence.
Edit - Scratch that, GT5 now playable from a rip on an altered 3.41 firmware. So hours, rather than days (hadn't caught up with the news, VG247 is always my first port of call!).
PS3.5: Sony Patent Shows Plans To Increase PS3′s Power With External Processor http://playstationlifestyle.net/2010/12/09/ps3-5-sony-patent-shows-plans-to-increase-ps3s-power-with-external-processor/ soooo what do you think will make of this treat we were to get for ps3? Will this stop the hack and extend ps3 life? Or will this be scrapped in the even that ps3 is nolonger secure? One of those things to think about
