YOU did, here's a thread from gamefaqs. Fellow Disgaea fans were waiting for the patch last night and all of us were unsure if are old saves would work and trophies would be retroactive. Turns out, the old saves work and it is retroactive. People who loaded their old saves got the trophies if they already did what was supposed to.

Amazing, even good news for PS3 users like trophy patches get downlplayed by saying they're not retroactive. I've read several articles stating the date of the patch but none of them (including the one from vg247) quote NISA saying that they are not retroactive. The articles just say it isn't.

Also, no one who works for this site ever tries to "downplay trophies"

They didn't lie Alaktratt. Nippon Ichi themselves claimed the trophy patch would make old selves unusable: http://www.nisamerica.com/news/20090709.html
So yes, Nippon Ichi *did* say it would ruin old saves, despite what you claim. They even said official email replies to people requesting information about what this patch would do to old saves, and stated very clearly in them that they would void old saves.
Blame Nippon Ichi mate, not Steph. She can only report what she's informed, and *every* source was saying it wasn't retroactive, so it's not her fault.
I think you owe someone an apology, young man.

lol, serves me right then for deleting my saves several weeks ago to make sure I was willing to restart for trophies. I really need to stop being a trophy whore.
