Jesus Christ, for a mainstream title this is so underrated.
I understand why the Resistance series cna get flak after R2, but Resistance 1 was absolutely awesome.
I beg everyone with a PS3 who hasn't got it, to get it. It's got the 'atmopshere' everyone raves about in Bioshock, with way cooler weapons, and variation.
Seriously, this game is so great. And the IQ is just unbelieveable.

Fall of Man is just wonderful, let's hope part 3 is a return to form.

I thought the atmosphere in RFoM was great, particularly the way the cut scenes were done with the voice over. Early level design tended to tarnish a lot of opinions though - much better from Manchester onwards I thought.
I enjoyed R2 but it had a few quirks - insta death sharks you couldn't kill and invisible insta-death gits could have been done a different way. The AI was also fairly dodgy. There were some stand out battles and levels for me though and I loved the way it ended the story.
It [R2] just felt like a bad CoD clone. With a generic setting and background.
In the UK it had a charm. The brown and grey was VERY apparent, but it worked for it.... I don't know why. And I would usually criticise a game for it, no doubt.
I loved the tunnels and the horror involved in it all. I love the melee combat sections, and the sixaxis parts.
And it just felt like a sandbox within which to use all these crazy weapons, and tons of enemy variety to test it on.
Each enemy had VERY distinct pros and cons.
they need to find a middle-ground between R1 and R2 I say.

Well what did you like about R2? I liked the co-op.
I loved the story/atmosphere in RFoM, bought R2 hoping to have more of the same or better but i was disappointed.
co-op was awesome, but the co-op in FoM was still better. Make that with online and 4 players and I'd be happy.
Yah, it'd be even cooler if the co-op weren't so monotonous.
So you CAN have those grindy parts (less grindy please) but there is also a change in pace a couple more times.
if they're sticking to non-campaign co-op, they should take some clues from left 4 dead and make it more challenging, have "special" chimera, and make it darker and grittier. they can still keep the xp system, but this brainless grinding ain't that hot.
